A/N: I am going to keep this pretty short, so basically this is Austin explaining his "incident". It is a pretty short chapter, but I promise they will get longer. Please leave suggestions in the comments because they help me to update faster. I hope you enjoy this chapter. xx
Austin’s P.O.V.
It is another nice sunny day in my new hometown of Savannah, Georgia, and once again I am inevitably stuck inside with nothing to do. My name is Austin Taylor, I am sixteen years old, and at one point before this summer I was still a young, naïve little boy.
My sixteenth birthday had just passed, the sun was beating down on my biology classroom, and once again Jake was getting on my nerves. You see, back then I lived in Montgomery, Alabama, and Jake was my friend only because our mothers had grown up together. He was getting on me again about my skateboarding. In Montgomery, I was taught to go to the country club and talk about nothing but myself, but I am just not that type of person. He started pushing and shoving at me, and finally I lost it and punched him in the nose. I was expelled from school and my parents packed up our house to move us to Savannah, Georgia, for a new start.
I had been grounded from my skateboard for almost a month when I finally got it back. I have been back on my board for about two weeks. Now that summer has officially started here in Savannah all of the other kids have gotten out of school. I have yet to meet any people my own age here in Georgia. Although I met a little boy who lives down the street and his name is James. He told me he has a sibling who is my age, but he told me that was all he is allowed to tell me. I wasn’t sure why he wouldn’t tell me anything else. In the three weeks I have been living here, I have yet to meet James’ sibling or even catch sight off him or her.
I have been seeing people go in and out of James’ house all the time that must be his sibling’s friends. The only problem is they are both boys and girls, so I can’t figure out what gender James’ older sibling is. I was so tempted to know more, so one day I decided to ask James about it and he actually was willing to tell me more! He explained to me that he has an older sister whose name he cannot tell me, and that I will almost never see her outside. He also explained to me that if I ever came to his house in the hopes of meeting her that I would never be allowed to talk to him again. I knew I couldn’t do that to James; he has grown close to me over the past couple of weeks, so for now I will leave him alone about his sister.
It is surprisingly sunny out, considering it has been raining for the past week, so I decided that this afternoon I will go out on my board. It seems like it has been forever even though it has only been a week, so I am extremely excited to be able to get back on my board. Maybe I will even get to see James today, and I might get to learn even more about his older sister.
