Anna’s P.O.V.
“What are we even doing”?!? It really is a good thing that Emma convinced my mom to let us paint in the front yard because we are getting it everywhere. We are only fifteen minutes in and I think we have more paint on ourselves than on the canvas. Austin hasn’t been outside yet, but James said he comes out around this time. He probably has a girlfriend back home in Alabama, so I shouldn’t take an interest in him yet. Although James didn’t say anything about Austin having a girlfriend, so I can think about how good-looking Austin is. From his attitude he doesn’t seem like the type of guy I would go for but I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
It really is nice to get some alone time with Emma ever since Dan asked her out I haven’t gotten to spend much time with her. We used to be the trois amis (A/N: We don’t take Spanish we take French lol) until he asked her out. He’s very clingy when it comes to Emma he thinks because of how beautiful she is all the boys are going to try stealing her from him. I guess he is also jealous of me because when it comes down to it Emma would pick me over him if I told her to. In fact he even declared war on me over her the other day.
“Hey Anna!"
“What? Sorry!" I guess I must have gotten lost in my thoughts; Emma is used to it though ever since the incident I have been daydreaming a lot more.
“I asked you if I could have a Klondike Bar”.
“Sure but only if you run down towards Lincoln High singing”. Secretly I’m hoping the Boys Cross Country team will be running by practicing for the start of their season.
“Why not?”.
“Oh one more thing I get to film it”.

“Emma wait! I can’t see run the other way”.
“No! I know that guy over there”. What is she talking about no one is outside? Wait no! Austin is in his driveway.
“So Emma you are trying to tell me you know Skater Boy who just moved here. How”?
“His family sat at my dad’s table for the work dinner last week; his dad is new to the team”.
“And why wasn’t this mentioned to me”?
“He didn’t talk much, wasn’t really memorable”. That’s odd because when he talked to me he sounded like a cocky asshole.
“You’re right Emma it isn’t important let’s go get that Klondike Bar”.

Emma went home around an hour ago after a failed attempt on my part to talk to Austin. The funny thing is he didn’t ride his skateboard or try talking to me in the time he was outside. One would think with his attitude he would do it just to spite me.
Now the matter of what school Skater Boy will be going to when summer ends. Telling Emma to run towards Lincoln High really got me thinking about it. Austin’s attitude seems to suggest he will be going to Lincoln, but from what Emma told me his family is like he will be going to St. Francis Prep with us.
St. Francis Prep “molding teenagers through wisdom into becoming young adults”. To say St. Francis has high standards would be an understatement, and to make school exceptionally harder us students were given a select group of crazy and weird teachers to deal with. All forms of crazy come in Madame, the eccentric French teacher that’s been around forever. The students all fear her, but because the addition of trips to France throughout the past decade more people have joined the class. Putting the fact that the teachers are crazy and we have to wear uniforms aside, St. Francis Prep isn’t all that bad. I guess I’ll figure out what school Austin is going to when the summer comes to an end, but for now I better just keep on enjoying summer before it is over.
