A/N: I have to say that this chapter has been my favorite to write so far. I love getting to use character development and there is a lot of that in this chapter. Also last chapter was kind of on the short side so I made this one extra long. Big shoutout to my friend Emma for making a new cover for this story. I won't be updating for awhile because I have an English paper to write, but I will update again during Christmas Break. Vote, comment, and enjoy :)
Anna’s P.O.V.
“Anna, wake up!” My mom banged on my door, startling me awake. “Why does the school year start on a Wednesday?” I groaned into my pillow. “Don’t sass me young lady! Get up and start getting ready.”
After fifteen minutes I was done getting ready for the horror that is school, probably because of the uniform we are forced to wear, though I would never admit it. I waited, scrolling through my Twitter feed, for Emma to come pick me up to take me to school.
I heard the doorbell ring and ran out of my room to answer the door for Emma before my mom could. If my mom and Emma started talking, we would never make it to school. When I opened the door though, I did not just find Emma, instead I found her and Austin shoving each other back and forth.
“Stop it, Emma. I want to give her a ride to school.” “Austin I’m not afraid to hurt you. I only put up with you so I can hear about the sex Anna and you will have later.”
I cleared my throat awkwardly becoming annoyed at my best friend, mainly for her sexual comments, and the boy from across the street. They stopped pushing each other and looked at me, finally realizing that I had answered the door.
“Austin it’s sweet of you to offer, but Emma already planned on taking me to school if you want you can take me tomorrow.” “Okay.” He sighed looking disappointed at having lost to Emma, who now had a smirk on her face.
“I’ll see you there though.” I kissed his cheek and ran out to Emma’s car. Thank god she isn’t driving that nasty green van her parents own again today. I waved to Austin as Emma pulled out of the driveway heading to the hellhole that we call school.

I sighed in relief once I reached my group’s lunch table. I forgot how stressful having to socialize with the whole school is. So far I already had homework in two of my morning AP classes and I am not happy about that. Emma, Olivia, and our other friend Amy were already seated at the table when I got there. Now we were just waiting for Dan and Austin to come sit down with us.
“Anna,” Rachael Lane sneered with disgust as she came up to our table. She is kind of the Regina George of St. Francis Prep because her rise to popularity came through striking fear into the student population. Ironic enough Will ended up with her not to soon after he stopped talking to me.
“Rachael,” I sneered back waiting for her to walk off. We are polar opposites yet kind of the same. I took my rise to popularity through being nice and social, a complete contrast to the fear she uses to gain her admirers. Although we are different in how we got to our popularity, the other students still admire us both.
