A/N: Obviously it's been awhile since I last updated, but with the start of the school year I got a crazy English teacher who's demands must be meet. Shouldn't writing stories count as my English homework? The update delay was also caused by the fact I made a book trailer, so check it out on the side!! Well anyway here is Chapter 3 finally :)
Anna’s P.O.V.
“James please you must remember she cannot see him”, my mom is instructing my brother on what I am allowed to do while outside. I do not know this “him” she is freaking out to James about.
“Yeah of course mom, he has not been out in days anyways; he won’t see her.” Oh so it must be the new neighbor that she is carrying on about.
“Oh my god, I don’t know who this guy is, but I don’t care, so can we please go outside?” I stomped my foot down in frustration.
---
“Finally I thought she was never going to let me go outside!” After an hour of reassurances to our mother about safety, James and I are finally outside. She tries to seem concerned, but she isn’t. The only reason she pretends is because her country club friends were disappointed to find out I had been injured for so long without getting medical attention. She had to do some serious kissing up to get back into their good graces, and I am the one who has to suffer the consequences because of her stuck up friends.
“James what boy was mom going on about?”“I’m sorry Anna, but if I told you she would kill me.”
“I honestly don’t get what the big deal is why-” I was cut off mid-sentence by a boy my age flying by on his skateboard without a helmet on. He’s definitely good looking, but he is a skater boy, so this is who my mom did not want me to find out about.
“Hey Skater Boy,” I wait until he turns around to look at me, “you need a helmet when you are on that thing.” “Please,” he huffed as he rolled his eyes, “I don’t need one”. Why is he so full of himself that he can’t even wear a helmet? If he doesn’t he will surely get hurt eventually.
Just then before I have the chance to tell him how idiotic he is being my mom shouts, “Anna, inside, now!” Great now she is mad at me for talking to whoever that skater guy is. My therapy wasn’t even finished and now she is not going to let me outside for a long time.
---
“Anna Lillian Brown what do you think you were doing talking to that good for nothing skater boy?” My mom is furious with me all thanks to that skater boy. It really is not my fault considering the fact he is an idiot.
“Mom, I am trying to tell you! I was just telling him he needs to wear a helmet.” “It does not matter what you were saying to him because you were not suppose to talk to him anyways. Now you may go to your room and you aren’t allowed to go outside again today”.
“But, Mom-” “No buts you should have thought about the fact you were not suppose to talk to him.”
---
“James you need to tell me why that boy knew your name.” Thank God I managed to sneak James into my bedroom, otherwise I would be bored out of my mind. I just do not get how that boy knows James, but there must be something my brother has been keeping from me.
“He just moved in and I was trying to be friendly, so I talked to him.”
“James you are my brother and I don’t care what mom told you to do, you need to tell me more about him.” “Anna I really shouldn’t tell you anything because mom might find out”.
“Please James she won’t find anything out.” I cannot believe he does not trust me enough to know I won’t let anything slip in front of mom. I have been keeping secrets from her my whole life, so I think I can handle this.
“Alright! Alright! I’ll tell you. His name is Austin, Austin Taylor and his family just moved here from Montgomery.”
“Do you know why they moved here?” “No sis I’m sorry I mean I asked, but talking about it seems to be a sensitive subject for Austin.” What could possible cause Skater Boy’s family to uproot their whole life in Montgomery and move here? And better yet why won’t he tell? It can’t be that much of a secret.
“Is that all you needed to talk about Anna?”
“What? Oh yes James thanks.”
---
I want to find out why Austin Taylor’s family moved here. The only problem is that he is still Skater Boy and I won’t have very many chances to get near him with my mom around all the time. I also can’t forget the fact he seems to have a real big attitude. Next time mom is out of the house I guess I will have to convince James to take me over to officially meet Austin. That might take awhile though, so maybe for now I will work on convincing my mom to let me and Emma hang out in the front yard. I just hope this plan works and that Skater Boy is not as cocky as he seems.

Austin’s P.O.V.
That girl who was with James must have been his sister. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. And I heard her mom call her name too, so now I know her name is Anna. She probably has a boyfriend, so I shouldn’t take any interest in her yet. James didn’t say anything about a boyfriend though, so maybe I can get my hopes up just a little. But the way she talked to me! She had such confidence in herself and her presence as she spoke to me. From what I can tell so far she seems like an amazing girl and I cannot wait to officially meet her. Maybe James will let me the next time her mom goes out, but that doesn’t happen very often so I am going to have to hang around outside more.
