Chapter 16
At school, there were a couple of new kids in the office, like our group always does, we greet them.
"Hey, you guys new?" Jenna and Haley say.
They always do that 'let's say things at the same time' thing.
"Ooh, yeah. We are. I'm Jessica, he's Tony."
"How are you guys? Did you get your schedule?" I jump in the conversation.
"Yeah, we're kind of lost, too. We just moved here, we're freshman."
"Ooh my god! Fishes! I love fishes." Elizabeth bursts out.
She knows we hate perkiness and giddy people, but there are times she just doesn't care.
Haley, Jenna, Jack and I looked at Elizabeth in a weird way because of the perkiness, but guess what? She doesn't care, She's laid back like that.
"Are you siblings too?"
"We are. So what's all your names?"
Elizabeth goes first being perky and hyper more than usual today.
"Hi there! I'm Elizabeth. That's Matthew but we call him Matt, that's Jenna, Haley and Jack. We're all one group that hangs out after, before and through the school. Can they join our group, guys?!"
"Y- Yeah! Sure, Eli." I say to her.
Jenna elbow nudges me, which means she wants to either talk about Elizabeth's perkiness or talk about me letting her let our group have more people.
"Oh my gosh yeah! I got a nickname! Eli. I love it."
"You're welcome, Eli. I'l be right back, Jenna needs me."
"What what?!" I say curiously to Jenna.
"Have you even seen how perky and hyper Elizabeth is today? What's up with that? And... why did you let them in our group already? We just met them and we only let people in once we get to like them."
"I have noticed, yes. But you see, she's happy, who are we to ruin any kind of happiness? Especially since how sad she's been without Jason, who are we to take that away? So what we hate perky people... but c'mon."
"I get you, I get you. I- I'm just not used to being around perky people, alright? It's just not my thing, but Eli's still my girl. I love her and she actually is happy for once in her life, being how hard it is, and Jason actually changed and got her back. Go them y'know? I'll just drop it okay? I'm being stupid."
"It's okay, let's just go back to the group..."
I take Jenna's hand and we run towards the group.
"Hey guys! We're back." Jenna yells... perky like.
Look who's changed all of a sudden.
"Hey, do any of you want to go by Matt's place after school so we can officially welcome our new group mates? Tony and Jessica. You guys up for it?"
"Yeah, man! Of course we'd love to. Thank you guys, for welcoming us into your group... and this school, you're the only ones who've talked to us."
"Whoa. really? Who the hell wouldn't talk to you guys? You look like amazing friends to hang out with."
"Thank you, guys. Well, how are we going to get to your house Matt?"
"Ooh, I have a truck, it's all good."
"You- you have a license right?" They giggle hard and get serious.
"Of course I do, I'm a junior."
