It's Never Really Goodbye Chapter 31

Over the last several months Jimin and Jungkook have been working on getting their affairs in order for the move from Seoul to California. They both have talked with Rose the Medical Administrator at Sacred Heart of Seoul and given her plenty of time to find their replacements. Jimin made one trip out to Stanford University to fill out necessary paperwork, be given a tour of the expansive campus, set up important meetings and to find comfortable living accommodations. Jungkook stayed back in Seoul to get their home in order. Jimin had decided to work with the property management company that was overseeing Jungkook's old apartment and rent his out too. This way they had a place to comeback to when the fellowship had run its course. They only intended on taking the items that they felt were the most important to have with them. All other items would be placed in storage. There was a level of low-key excitement running through the both of them. This was a huge move for both of them.

While in California, Jimin was able to take Jungkook on some of the tours through some of the homes he was looking at to rent. With the time difference Jungkook would have to rely on some of the pictures sent back by Jimin to see the places. They had their sights set on three communities surrounding Stanford; Woodside, Palo Alto, and Atherton. All three had small enclaves of doctors and professors working with the University and was considered affluent areas. Jimin was going through one home while talking with Jungkook via face time just before Jungkook went to bed.

"Aegiya, what do you think of this home? Isn't it lovely? It has a large garden backyard with plenty of beautiful flowers. Large master bedroom with dual walk in closets, large his and hers...ehem...his and his bathroom with a wonderful jacuzzi tub. Oh, let me show the kitchen...it's amazing!" Jimin says with excitement as he walks from the bedroom towards the kitchen.

Jungkook is tucking himself in bed as he is watching Jimin's guided tour of the 8th home that he has seen in 3 days but he is paying attention. He has been so surprised at the size of the homes that Jimin has looked at in their price range for renting. They have all been so much larger than the apartment they are living in. Many had large beautiful oak filled offices and professionally-equipped kitchens.

"So Kookie, what do you think?" As Jimin pans around the sumptuous kitchen with all professional stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and dark cherry cabinets.

"OMO! I love it Baby. It's beautiful. The whole house is beautiful. I especially love the backyard. Who would have thought we could have such a big and beautiful backyard?" Jungkook says thrilled with this home.

"So, do you want me to put in the application for this home? Stanford will secure it for us while we stay here but we just pay the rent. I love it Kookie. I think we would enjoy this home." Jimin says.

"Then let's get it!" Jungkook says. "I'm so excited but I miss you so much. The bed is too cold without you in it."

Jimin blushes, "I know, I miss you too Aegiya, but I'll be home soon. Then we will need to work on getting our personal items shipped over."

"That reminds me Baby, the property management company found you a tenant for your apartment." Jungkook says.

"Really? So soon? Wow! They are good." Jimin is surprised.

"Well, yeah..." Jungkook looks strangely back at Jimin on the phone while scratching the back of his neck.

"What's that look for?" Jimin inquires.

"Well, it's a couple and they've been together for quite a while. They are both established professionals." Jungkook says.

"Okay, I don't see a problem in that." Jimin says.
