Word Gets Out And There's An Answer Chapter 20

Jimin and Jungkook are back to work the first shift after the run in with the Medical Administrator.  Both are waiting just outside her office waiting to go in and talk with her about what she saw the other day.  The phone rings at the secretaries desk.

"Ah, Dae.  I'll send them in."  She says politely then gets up and bows.

They both bow back and walk into the office.  Rose the MA is seated at her desk going through files and indicates by gesture for them to take seats at the chairs in front of  her desk.  They bow and sit down

"Good evening Gentlemen.  Thank you for coming as requested.  I'm sure you know why I asked to see you."  She says calmly

"Yes, I think we both know." Jimin responds politely.

"Hum, well yes.  If you two were any other people in this world I wouldn't hardly have noticed or cared about what I witnessed but you aren't.  You are a Nurse Jungkook and you are Doctor Park Jimin.  This presents a minor issue.  As you know the hospital cannot stop such relationships from occurring but we can do things that would make working here either unpleasant or difficult at best.  Such as switching shifts.  That is not the intent of this conversation.  It is my intent to set ground rules if this is a relationship that will continue."

"We don't have any other intention."  Jungkook responded.

"Well, we have in the past had work relationships that have caused work problems.  Fights making it difficult for the couples to work together, illicit romances between married employees, and even patient-employee relationships.  Those are forbidden and will get you fired."  She continues.  "If I may, how long has this relationship been going on?"

Jimin responds, "Just about 8 months.  May I state the relationship did not begin here.  It began elsewhere but we just happened to find out we worked together."

"Hum." she responds.  "Well to both of your credits you have done very well at being discrete about it.  Until I saw your little PDA at the ramen shop, I had no clue.  Generally, not much escapes the rumor mill around here but you two seem to have.  With that being said  I am not going to apply any kind of punitive judgement on you.  However, I will request that to the best of your abilities that you maintain your discretion and should it become knowledge among the employees that we hope that you will be exemplary in your behavior here."

"Rose, we have always and will always conduct ourselves in a professional manner.  To the best of our knowledge not even the patients could say they thought that Jungkook and I were anything other than Doctor and Nurse.  As a matter of fact, I recently had one patient who desperately wanted me to meet her daughter even though Jungkook was in the room with me.  He conducted himself quite professionally."  Jimin said.

"Well should your relationship become an interference with work and your conduct become less than professional we will have to consider at that time reassignment and depending on the conduct termination.  I have faith in both of you gentlemen that you are quite capable of continuing to perform at the top levels of your skills without conflict between personal and professional lives."  Rose says.

"Yes, ma'am.  We are very capable."  Jungkook says.

"Well, gentlemen I don't want to hold you up from work.  Shift change is soon and from what I hear the ER is a zoo tonight.  Thank you for coming and talking with me and allaying any fears I may have had regarding your personal relationship and work."  Rose conludes.

"Thank you for your time and we will not disappoint you."  Jimin says as he and Jungkook stood up from their chairs and took another bow before exiting the office.

When they were at the elevators waiting for a car they looked at each other and sighed

"Well that's over and it didn't go as bad as I was afraid it would."  Jungkook said.
