Nineteen

Annabeth stood in the doorway, her smug look not faltering as she stared Apollo down. They were like this for a long few minutes before Apollo broke the eye contact. "Why?" he asked.

"He deserves it," she stated matter-of-factly. "The world is a kill or be killed situation. You have to kill those that hurt you or you continue to be hurt. And Percy hurt me. Do you know how many times I walk into the Athena cabin only to be met by empty beds? It hurts so much."

"That's not Percy's fault," Apollo glared.

"Maybe not," Annabeth sighed, "but he didn't lose anyone. Tyson is still alive. His mom is still alive. His step dad is still alive. Poseidon still likes him. Everyone else lost siblings. But he didn't."

"I l-lost friends, though," a weak, tear-interupted, response came from Percy. The room was silent. Annabeth was red in the face like she was mad at Percy for saying the truth.

"You put Percy though tough shit," Apollo spoke up, "and I have way more power than you ever will. Therefore, my powers say that I can punish you in a way that I see fit as he is my lover."

"Whatever," Annabeth said. "Do you think I'm scared of death? I went through Tartarus. Death is the least scary thing on my mind right now."

"Oh, it won't be death," Apollo smirked. "And it won't be poetry either."

Apollo transported them to a completely black room. He looked around, though, knowing what the room contained. Even though it was dark, he saw Annabeth's face pale and she looked like she was going to faint.

"Welcome to a place that worse than Tartarus for you," Apollo smiled, pushing Annabeth further into the room. She turned to glare at him, trying to say something, but her voice failed to work. "Have fun."

Apollo created a barrier between himself and where Percy lay sadly on the ground and Annabeth. He quite liked seeing her terrified, especially in this way. This was going to be entertaining. After this, Annabeth won't mess with Percy ever again.
