Twenty Five

Another early ass update :)
I really need to stop updating at like midnight.

Casey and Percy walked through the Field of Asphodel talking. Percy told Casey about Thalia and Jason. He told her about the wars and stuff he'd done. She told him what she remembered of Thalia, and that they had only been eight and six when she had died. Casey told him that in death, someone young enough still ages.

A scream came from Casey as a small 'pop' sound came from behind her. "Perseus Jackson," a voice came from behind them, "how could you fucking die? Do you know how bad Apollo is feeling? How bad your friends are hurting? We thought you were getting better."

Percy turned to see Nico standing there, his face red in anger. He frowned. Did people really think he committed suicide?

"I swear I didn't kill myself," Percy said. "I have been getting better. It was Athena. She killed me."

"We found a suicide note," he said quietly. "Will and Apollo talked elsewhere about it, but haven't told anyone what they said."

Casey got an idea. "Nico," she began, "do you think you could summon Percy? That way he can talk to Apollo. That's a hell of a lot easier plan than what I had planned."

"I can try," Nico shrugged. Then turning to Percy. "But if I find out this was a suicide, I will murder you."

"I'm already dead, though," Percy chuckled. Nico just growled and shadow traveled away. "I guess now we just wait."

Nico was standing on the front porch, getting ready to knock when he heard a car stop. He turned to see Paul getting out of the car. "Nico?" he asked, calling to the boy who nodded. "What can I do for you?"

"Is Sally here?" he asked, not wanting to make small talk. Paul nodded, letting the two of them inside. "Have you heard the news about Percy?" It was silent for a long period of time. Paul was frowning. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned it," Nico mumbled.

Sally walked through the door, her eyes heavy and her face red. "Hello, Nico," she sniffed, wiping a stray tear.

"Hi, Sally," Nico tried to send her a small smile. "I was wondering if you could do me a favor. You'll be able to see Percy again if you do."

And that's how they ended up making a stack of blue pancakes.

Will, Apollo, Sally, Paul, and Nico all stood at Percy's grave. It was a light grey. Dolphins were engraved to look like they were jumping over his name. underneath was his birth to death date. "Here goes nothing," Nico muttered.

Nico sat a pancake on the ground then closed his eyes. For some reason, Percy was hard to summon. Usually souls are easy to get linked with. Percy wasn't.

He grabbed another pancake, setting it down next to the other. The link got a bit stronger, but not enough. Nico continued the process until there weren't anymore pancakes. They waited about five minutes until the food began to sink. A few seconds later, Percy appeared, eating said pancakes.

"Darn, only six," Percy chuckled, taking another bite of pancake. "It seems like ages since I've had some of these. Well, I mean, it kind of has been a couple ages."

Everyone stared in shock as Percy carelessly shoved pancake into his mouth. Once he finished, he sat down on the ground. His eyes linked with Apollo's.

"Can you see me?" Apollo only nodded, allowing a tear to track his face. "I need to explain."

Percy let everyone sit before continuing the details of what had happened. They all stared in shock. At the end, Sally and Apollo stood up, anger eminent in their eyes.

"Mom, please sit back down," Percy said quietly. "She's a goddess. She could literally kill you as easily." Sally, though very, very hesitant, agreed. Apollo on the other hand, teleported away.
