They both wake up to the sun on their faces.
"Hey Sweet-Cheeks," Bakugou says kindly.
Uraraka looks up with her hair a mess to see bright ruby eyes staring back at her. A big white grin spreading across his face. Chills run down her back as she gives into the irresistible urge to smile.
"Yes Katsuki?"
The sound of her saying his first name is still a treat to his ears.
"Good morning."
Uraraka giggles lightly and responds, "Good morning!" The feeling in the room is carefree and warm. They stay looking at each other but quickly the goofy grin disappears from his face. "Is there something wrong?" Uraraka says.
Bakugou lets out a loud sigh, "Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I think we have to go to school today."
"Wot?! The whole hurricane thing ended just yesterday! How can they expect everybody to just go back to their normal lives?"
"I don't know Pink-Cheeks, but you heard that news reporter, 'resume all regular activity blah blah blah'. And besides I bet if any school is going to be up and running its UA. We never get a fucking break."
"Katsuki I don't want to gooooo." Uraraka turns herself around so her hands are on his chest and their noses are touching. He laughs at the sight of her childish complaining.
"Haha, you're like a little kid!"
"Hey! W–well what does that make you, huh? You pedo!"
"UGH EW, OCHAKO WHAT THE FUCK, DON'T GO THERE!!"
She pummels his chest with playful punches and he grabs her by the waist and attempts to tickle her.
"Ha. Ha. Nice try McSplodey, but I'm not ticklish."
He raises his eyebrows at her and then smiles wickedly. He moves his hands down to her thigh and starts to drag his fingers upward. Her eyes widen and she giggles at the arousing touch. He moves his head closer to her and lightly brushes his lips against hers. Bakugou moves his other hand to her head and grips her hair. He proceeds to lightly kiss her ear and whisper her name.
"...Ochako..."
Uraraka's breathing deepens and her reply is breathy, "Yeah?"
"...GO GET READY FOR SCHOOL! HAHAHA."
"YOU ARE CRUEL, YOU HOE!"
Uraraka pushes herself up off him and pouts.
"Oh come on Round-Face, how else was I going to get your attention?" She dramatically turns her head away and pretends to ignore him. "Ochakooooooo. Ochako. Ochako. Ochako." Silence. "Ochako pleeeease forgive me."
Bakugou moves over so that she has to look at him. He puffs out his lower lip in a pouty expression and she can't help but smile. To avoid losing all hold of the situation, she swiftly puts the tips of her fingers against his chest, making him float upward. "Hey! Put me down! We have to go to school!" She doesn't reply, but simply gets up and goes up to his room to retrieve her, now dry, school uniform. As she walks up the stairs she can still hear his yelling. A few minutes later she hops down the stairs in the dark skirt and wrinkled white button down. She looks up and sees a very annoyed Bakugou trying to air-swim around from wall to wall.
"Bahahaha! Okay, okay." She releases him and he falls to the ground.
"Oi!"
She giggles and crosses her arms.
"You know we are going to be late for school if you don't get ready." She playfully taps her foot on the ground and puffs out her cheeks.
"Tsch," He says as he gets up and bumps past Uraraka on the way to his room. A few minutes later he comes stomping down with a smile on his face.
"What are you so happy about?"
"Nothing Angel-Face."
Uraraka blushes when she realizes that she's probably why.
"Let's go already Katsuki," Uraraka says while looking down and blushing.
There isn't enough time for breakfast, and they'll get lunch at school anyway so they make their way to the door. He pauses because he realizes that this is the first time either of them will have seen the outside since that man attacked her. All of the windows are still boarded shut. He takes a deep breath and opens the door to reveal the outside. There's debris everywhere, but the houses below his are mostly damage free. Further down he can see the real harm the tsunami caused. There are empty plots where homes used to be and everything is covered in mud. He takes a step outside and realizes that Uraraka is not with him. He turns his head back to her and her face has gone completely white, there's no trace of the usual blush.
"Ochako?"
She doesn't respond, but just looks at him with pure panic in her eyes. Bakugou walks over and embraces her with a tight hug. "Don't worry Ochako. He is gone. He is never ever going to come back. He's probably dead, and even if he's not, he's scared shitless 'cause he knows that I'll kill him if he ever touches you." She nods her head into his chest in response and takes a few deep breaths. He releases her and takes her hand in his. The familiar rough feelings of his calloused palms calms Uraraka, and she is able to step outside of the house. They begin to walk on the pathway to school, well really Bakugou walks and Uraraka follows since she has no idea where she is. He carefully watches her expression for any hint of fear that could be caused by the sight of the wreckage or memory of her attacker, but quickly internally scolds himself. "Jesus Katsuki, she's not going to break. She's so strong and you're treating her like a porcelain doll," he thinks to himself. Her expression is one of content and occasionally the shock of seeing the aftermath of the hurricane for the first time. As they approach school, their path becomes increasingly more difficult to navigate. They have to step over and walk around fallen trees, parts of houses, and even stranded cars, all the while holding each others hand. School comes closer and the two start to see other UA students arriving. Uraraka spots green hair across the courtyard and lets go of Bakugou's hand in reaction. He looks down at her confused but then sees the trigger. Rage paints his face and Uraraka attempts to distract him from what just happened.
"Katsuki, we should uh–figure out what's gonna happen when we get to school!"
No response. He just looks forward and continues to walk. "Are we going to tell people about..." She pauses because she doesn't know how to phrase this questions to him. Are they even 'together together'? After a few seconds of awkwardness she speaks, "Are we... a thing?" Her voice cracks on the last note.
"...What's that supposed to mean Round-Face."
"It uh, um–I want um..." She gathers the courage to say what she has to. "Ugh, I'm trying to say that I want to be yours!" She says with her fists clenched and her eyes closed. They have both stopped walking and Bakugou is smirking at her. After a few seconds of silence Uraraka starts to get anxious.
"You've never not been mine," he says as he walks on without Uraraka. She grins and skips up to him.
"Are we going to tell people?"
"Why would those fucks need to know?"
"I don't know, maybe to make it more 'official'? But I guess it would be more fun if it was a secret!"
"I like that, those extras don't need to know."
"Sounds good!"
They walk into the main building and head to homeroom, but both stop before the door. They're no longer in his house with just each other. The few days hiding out in Bakugou's house had been some of the best of both of their lives, protected by each in their own special little world. Now they will have to deal with school and other people. They look at each other for one last uncomplicated time and walk through the door.
