Bakugou comes to, and hears pounding on his door. It's his father. He wonders why his father is home and how, but the threatening bangs coming from the outside of his room are a more pressing issue. His father never gets angry, and the sound of his father yelling and slamming his fist into the door again and again, has Bakugou visibly scared. He gets up and tries to make his way to the door. He feels pain all over his body and he remembers. He connects that what happened is probably why his father is in his current state. A terrible weightless feeling takes over his body and his pupils dilate. He starts to shake again, but manages to open the door. Bakugou refuses to make eye contact with his father.
"...Katsuki."
"Yes." Bakugou says as he looks up at his father. He's shocked to see tears streaming down his father's face. "Dad?"
His father grits his teeth and squeezes his eyes tight before speaks.
"What Did You Do."
After a few seconds, Bakugou manages to speak."I–I don't know... it all just happened so fast."
"WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
Usually, anytime someone dared to raise their voice at Bakugou. They would be met with a reciprocation ten times stronger. But this time, Bakugou is at a loss for words. The images came back to him. With each one, he felt weaker. He sees her blood swirling in the dirt, her glazed over eyes, and worst of all, he hears her voice in his head, "Katsuki....". The shame in his chest spreads like a thick poison in his veins.
"...I don't know..."
"I'LL TELL YOU WHAT YOU DID. YOU KILLED HER."
"...no..."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO?!"
"...I–It's not possible."
"WELL IT IS."
Bakugou falls to his knees. He wishes to pass out again, or better yet, just to die. The mixture of utter heartbreak and guilt are too much.
"I promised I would never hurt her..."
A scream builds in his throat as the tears make him temporarily blind, and it finally escapes. Bakugou wakes up screaming and soaked in sweat. It was a dream. But the possibility that she could be dead rushes his mind. He gets up and starts violently pacing around his house, either reaching for the phone or the front door. He has no idea what to do. Nothing this bad has ever happened. He decides on his phone. He picks it up and sees several missed calls from both his parents. Bakugou ignores it, and hesitantly puts in the digits for Uraraka's cell phone. He presses send and hears the ringing. The ringing goes on for what seems forever. With each series of trills, his heart sinks deeper into despair. Click. Bakugou's eyes widen in surprise, but he can't bring himself to speak.
"..."
There is confusing silence on both ends of the call for several seconds. "...O–Ochako?"
"Katsuki!"
When he hears her voice, it feels like the world is lifted off his shoulders. He slumps to the floor and lets the tears of joy and relief flood his eyes. The tone in her voice is joyful, but there's a sharpness to it. "Katsuki, are you there?".
"Y–yes I am, sorry it's just–, it doesn't matter. Um, where are you?"
Uraraka is confused by both his tone and his question. He just doesn't seem like himself. This whole situation doesn't feel right.
"I'm um, I'm with Recovery Girl."
"...Oh... Ochako, I'm–"
"It's okay Katsuki, you don't need to worry about me, I'm fine. Deku is okay too. But we do need to talk. Can you meet–?"
