Sam allowed Brandon to sleep until mid-morning. She would have allowed him to sleep longer, but wanted to rehearse with him on some new skills he needed to know as a Jedi Knight and for their presentation. She went to his door and knocked.
When he opened the door, he was dressed and ready for their rehearsal. She smiled,
"Good, you were up."
"Thanks for letting me sleep in. I needed the rest."
She gave a wicked grin,
"After I'm through with you... you will need it for sure."
He raised his eyebrows and said, "Remember, do not give
in to the Dark-side. Someone can get hurt, like me."
They both laughed.
As they walked out of the hotel, she said,
"When we start our rehearsal, I want to teach you something
about the Force. I want to teach you about creating illusions.
It is something that a Jedi uses to either prevent a fight or
get away from one if it is too much to handle. For some,
they can overpower it."
"That means they work on the weak-minded?"
"Yes, mostly, but for a short time, it can work just
enough to get out of something. Think of it as a distraction.
Someone can use them for other things than just the two
I mentioned. For instance, last night's police chase.
If you didn't use those two grease barrels, you could've
used the Force to create an illusion to keep that criminal from running."
"I see. I could have simply made that criminal think a
Tyrannosaurus was after him and have him run towards me?"
"That is right. He or the whole city could have seen it.
That's up to you on how you present it."
"I can see the potential problem with it. I take it that
Jedi Knights dislike doing this thing often?"
"No, they don't like using the Force in such a way.
Like I said before, sometimes you've to do it for
a better alternative. It's also good for presentations."
"I wondered if Jedi Knights ever had to do presentations before."
"Ituor told me that when the Jedi and the Alliance
found the scattered Jedi after they destroyed Palpatine,
they had to do the same thing we're doing now. Some of
these worlds were like Earth. They thought they were the
only ones in the universe. We're from Earth. That helps
us help everyone realize all we have said since
Sofith, General Hammond, and General Davis
stated were completely true."
He smiled,
"I am happy that Daniel found all that information
on the ancient Jedi. If he did not, they could have
taken Earth over by the Goa'uld or whoever is out
there that wants to destroy all Jedi Knights."
"Having Yoda tell you more has helped. When Ituor
and the other Jedi had to do their presentations,
they did it for simple communication. We're doing
it for Earth's survival."
He said,
"Whatever is out there, we will confront it before it
reaches Earth. With the SGC doing scouting reports and
everyone doing their part, I do not believe our
planet is in any potential danger."
She sighed,
"I hope you're right, my friend."
He said,
"You and the rest of SG1 saved Earth several
times with no one noticing it. With the help of
everyone, we all can prevent any direct danger."
The streets of Buenos Aires buzzed with life as Samantha and Brandon strolled through the city, their senses immersed in the vibrant atmosphere. The air was filled with the mingling aromas of freshly baked empanadas from corner bakeries and the smoky scent of asado wafting from hidden parrillas. Cars and buses weaved through the bustling avenues, their horns creating a symphony of urban energy.
