### From this story forward, I want to dedicate all my stories to my Grandmother, who passed away on February 17, 2015 — Eunice M. Blair. There is something I have written about her in the story after this one, The New Jedi Knights, long before she left us. Thanks for making our lives so wonderful when you lived with us years ago. I wrote your warm personality in all my stories that had you in them. I will never forget you. May the Force be with you always. ###
+++ I post another dedication: Jerry Bowers [who is my father, and is in this story and others after] died on August 15, 2015, at 74. He left a legacy in Hall County, Georgia, during his time at North Hall High School. He also left a legacy with his family. We cannot label too many people in such a manner. I know two very important ones in human history: Helen Keller & Samantha Smith. All who know you will miss you and carry onward with all you have given us. Thank you. +++
Chapter 1: Visiting Earth
As dawn broke over the sprawling cityscape of Coruscant, the golden light of the rising sun filtered through the high-rise skyline, casting long, soft beams into Samantha and Jack's apartment. The light touched the sleek, metallic surfaces of their home, dancing across the walls like shimmering gold threads. Jack, already awake, stood by the large panoramic window, gazing out at the vibrant city below.
The hum of the ever-active metropolis filled the air — a mix of speeders zipping through air lanes, the distant buzz of holo-displays, and the faint murmur of countless lives starting their day. With a mischievous grin, Jack reached out and opened the shades, flooding the room with brilliant sunlight.
The sudden brightness stirred Samantha from her slumber. She groaned softly, her hand instinctively reaching out as if to close the shades with the Force. Before she could finish the gesture, Jack caught her wrist with a gentle yet firm grip.
"Get up, lazy,"
he teased, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
Samantha blinked against the light, her emerald eyes squinting as she adjusted to the morning.
"You're lucky I like you,"
she mumbled, her voice still heavy with sleep. But her lips
curled into a smile as she slipped out of bed and wrapped
her arms around her husband. His embrace was warm
and grounding, a perfect start to the day.
"You're up before me,"
she said, raising an eyebrow.
"Have you eaten breakfast yet, or were you just lying in
wait to ambush me with sunlight?"
Jack chuckled, his dark eyes twinkling with humor.
"No, I haven't eaten. That's why I needed you awake.
Someone has to keep me fed."
"Oh, so that's what I am now? A Jedi Knight and
your personal chef?" she teased, poking him in the ribs.
He feigned an exaggerated wince before pulling her in
for a lingering kiss.
Samantha finally broke away, laughing.
"Fine. Breakfast it is. But you're helping."
The aroma of fresh caf and sizzling nuna bacon soon filled the apartment, mingling with the comforting scent of morning. They worked together seamlessly, as if their connection extended beyond words. Samantha chopped and stirred while Jack set the table, stealing moments to sneak bites or share quick kisses.
Meanwhile, outside their home, Coruscant awoke in full splendor. The sun, climbing higher, cast its glow across the towering skyscrapers and bustling airways. The planet-city's architectural wonders glistened under the sunlight, their reflective surfaces catching the rays and sending them cascading in every direction. Gradually, the entire horizon was bathed in daylight, a testament to the planet's ceaseless vitality. Coruscant was, after all, the beating heart of the galaxy — a place where no corner rested for long.
Beyond the personal serenity of their morning, Samantha's duties loomed large. A fully trained Jedi Knight and a Master of her craft, she was not only a protector of peace but also a steward of an ancient legacy. In this era of the New Republic, her role carried profound significance. Among her many responsibilities, she oversaw the Stargate stationed on Coruscant — a relic of immense power and potential.
