The Oval Office during President George W. Bush's tenure (2001-2009) was a symbol of American authority and tradition, decorated in warm tones that projected a sense of stability and history. The office featured cream-colored walls with white trim, and the centerpiece was the Resolute Desk, made of mahogany and given to the United States by Queen Victoria in 1880. Behind the desk was a tall, arched window framed by gold curtains, letting in natural light.
On the left wall, a pair of comfortable, striped armchairs faced the President's desk, accompanied by a matching coffee table where meetings often occurred. A beige and gold rug with a presidential seal design covered the floor, lending a cohesive elegance to the room. The room also included a traditional fireplace with a white mantel, often adorned with historical artifacts or family photos.
Paintings of American landscapes and portraits of former presidents hung on the walls, showcasing the nation's history. In this setting, President Bush might have opted for a less formal tone, reflecting his reputation for direct and personable communication. The atmosphere, while stately, allowed for conversations that ranged from serious to approachable, fitting the gravity and accessibility of a meeting with the Princess, General Hammond, General Davis, and the President.
"Even with Thor's help in answering our questions,
we have our job cut out for us."
She said,
"President Bush, I think we need to do more
than demonstrations. We need to educate everyone
by all means at our disposal."
"I agree with you. I believe that you need to get everyone you can
get a hold of to be out there on every news program, every
radio broadcast, and anything else that would communicate
to the entire world. We have many translators who can help
you in other countries. These Asgardians need to be communicating
just as much. I don't want to fight the public while we are
fighting these Ubaids. If we do, we'll have more of a mess on
our hands than if we had all of this a complete secret.
Princess Sofith, you have complete autonomy in getting this
information out to the world. Please keep me abreast of your progress."
"I thank you for your trust in me, my people, and the Jedi Knights.
I've dealt with tougher negotiations than this. This will be out
to everyone, and in time they'll understand before the
Ubaids come, I hope."
"I hope you can. God help us if the world doesn't believe us.
If you would excuse me, I need to talk with the other
governments to help you all."
"I'm getting too old to go all out, but I'll do all I can to
help you, Princess,"
General Hammond said.
"I know having Earth told that there are many, many beings
on other planets in other galaxies isn't an easy thing to accept.
George, if you can help us, I'd be grateful. Tell your
grandchildren hello, for me."
He replied with a smile, "I sure will. If that is all I can do,
I'll let you all get to work. Goodbye, Mr. President."
"I promise the Bowers and the Aarons I'll be with them
for a short time. Please contact me with that special Holocron
hand device I gave you."
She said to the President as she left the Oval Office.
As they exited the Oval Office, the brisk pace of their conversation matched their purposeful strides. The wide doors of the grand room closed silently behind them, the muted thud a reminder of the weighty decisions just made.
Sunlight poured in through the tall windows lining the hallways, casting long streaks of gold onto the polished floors of the White House. Princess Sofith adjusted her flowing, regal cloak as they passed staff members who offered subtle bows of respect.
General Davis, clad in his crisply pressed uniform, nodded
to a pair of guards stationed by the doorway. His boots
clicked sharply against the marble tiles as they stepped
into the spacious foyer. Turning slightly toward Sofith, he said,
"I'll relay the message to Thor immediately. If the Asgards are
willing to mobilize, we'll have a formidable alliance."
