Chapter 18: The Rescue Attempt

After the Saa children broke contact with the Force. Sodir looked at Emily and Ben,
"We've contacted our uncle. He's aware of the dangers of
rescuing us. I hope it'll be enough."

Ben looked at Emily and replied,
"We must do what we can before they arrive."

Jestuta said,
"We understand your bravery, but what can we do against the
forces of this Death Star? If we were as powerful with the
Force as the Jedi that is coming to rescue us, we can't fight
everyone here."

"We have our wits. They won't think five children are a threat
to them. What we can do is make them concentrate on us,
then on Ituor and the others. That will give them the edge they need,"
Emily said.

Sodir said,
"Emily is right. She scared the Goa'uld. We're now a threat
to them. At first, we were just bait or barter. We have changed
the stakes. They are wondering what will come from us next."

"I don't know. How he talked about the Ubaids like he did.
I think they are inferior to them." Marshen commented.

"If that's the case, we might use that to our advantage. Since
we scared one of them, we might get them to fight for
their superiority,"
Sodir said, "one problem. We scared him really bad.
I don't think he or any other Goa'uld will put even
one toe in here."

Emily said,
"We know that everyone on this Death Star is waiting
for someone to rescue us. We need to help them."

Emily closed her eyes to think about what they could do. A voice came to her and only to her.

"Use the Force."

Emily said in her mind,
"Can I do that? I'm not a Jedi."

"Use the Force, yes you can. Help you, I will. "

"Who are you?"

"Jedi Master Yoda that help trained your uncle, am I."

She was excited and confused at the same time.

He said,
"No reason to be confused Emily, there is. I that helped
you scare that Goa'uld, it was. Have done those things to
you including torturing master Jedi Sam and your uncle,
he would, but allow that to happen I will not. Even though
you and Ben have not the direct ability to use the Force like
the other Jedi, it means that you cannot use the Force or
become a Jedi not. Yeesssssss."

She thought for a moment and replied,
"By you and that other Jedi, Jolinar."

He laughed in delight and said to her,
"The wonders of a mind of a child. You are correct.
Present our power of the Force in both of you, we both will.
For able to use the Force as if it were us being there,
this time you will be. Another word, need any special
training you will not. When you both we depart from,
then need your Jedi training, you will. Herh herh herh."

"I understand. I have to say I am very excited to become
a Jedi like my uncle. I know that he went through a great
deal of training to become a Master Jedi. I'll do my best
in learning from you, Master Yoda while you are guiding
me with your power of the Force."

"Indeed, child, you will. In each of you, while both Jolinar
and I are, both be protected from the Dark-side, you will,
but when we depart, become a threat in your training, the
Dark-side can."

"Uncle Brandon has told me a little of the dangers of the
Dark-side. I'm not planning to go there. For now, what can
Ben, myself, and the other three young Jedi do to help
he rescue party?"

"Even with all the help, you know that this is a giant trap,"
Jack said.

Ituor replied,
"I know. That's why I wanted Brandon and Sam to stay
behind. They might have to rescue us and the children."
