From Another World

I magically appeared in a town, which seems to look like a beginner town I've seen from the games I have played.

Woah, so this is a parallel world. W-Wait, I'm really going to be using magic and going on adventures in this world from now on? Yes! I've been waiting for this my whole life!

"Goodbye shut-in life! Hello, new world! I can really start anew in this world!" I shouted and raise my hands in excitement.

"Mom, there's a weird man there." I heard a boy say in the background. I look back and saw the mother guide his son away from me. Wait I am acting weird.

I must act as if I'm a part of this world. I may look suspicious if I acted like how I was when I was in my old world. I must reenact the gameplay of RPG games I've played throughout the years. I was already equipped which seems to be starter equipment so I didn't have anything to worry about.

Now, what will I do now? Think Shane, think... What do beginners do when they start in a fresh game?

Oh! A guild! Going to places like the guild to gather information in what are you supposed to do in these games. I see a rather young man, is he a merchant? He looks like he's in his late 20's. I approach him slowly and asked. "Um, Can I ask where's the guild around these parts?"

He noticed me and waved "Oh, you must be a new adventurer here eh? Sure, The Adventurer's Guild is in the middle of town, just straight from here."

"Thanks Mister!" I shake his hand and waved him goodbye. I followed his directions and went straight ahead.

I saw a large building up in the distance. Looks like this is the place, it has a large sign at the top, written in it is...

Looking for somewhere to drink? This is the place!

Yes, this is the guild, and it seems to be a bar too, which most guild houses are in games. As I approach it, I felt nervous but then I peeked and then just went inside. door squeaks

Suddenly, a waitress noticed me and approached me right away, and said "Welcome! If you're here to eat, please take any open seat. If you need job guidance, head to the counter inside."

"Thank you." I replied quietly, and as I look around the place seems interesting. Then an unfamiliar voice spoke to me. "Hey." he said.

"Huh?" I look at where the voice was coming from and saw a giant muscular man. Gulp

"Haven't seen you around here before." He looked intimidating, but I have to play it cool.

"Oh, I had actually come a long way and I just got into town. I want to become an adventurer to fight the Devil King's army too!"

"Is that right, you reckless punk? Well then, welcome to the gates of hell! If you're lookin' for the guild admission desk, it's right over there." He pointed at a desk in the side with people that look like the staff.

"Thanks, mister!" I shook his hand in gratitude and headed on to the admission desk where he was talking about.

Today I'll register with a guild and I'll find a place to stay for the night, that's how it works in most RPG games, I guess... Now I've arrived at the admission desk I was met by a beautiful woman which seems to be the one in charge.

"Hello, what can I do for you today?" she said.

Um, I'd like to become an adventurer please." As I smile at her.

"Hmm, I see. In that case, you'll first need to pay the registration fee."

"Sure, sure." As I look for money in my pockets, there must be some coins given to you.

"That would be four gold coins, sir." She added.

Well, that's a lot, let's see if how much money was given to me when I teleported here.

I found a sack with seems to be coins, I check the sack. What?! Exactly four gold coins? Maybe this is just for the guild registration, good thing I didn't spend anything before going here.

"Here," I said while handing the woman with the four gold coins in my hand, and she quickly accepted it.

"So, allow me to formally explain, Adventurers each have their own occupations. This is your registration card." She handed me a blank card, wait, this blank piece of paper is my card? As she continued to explain. "It keeps track of how many monsters you've vanquished. As your level increases, you'll earn points that you can use to learn skills, so please work hard to raise your level." She added.

Then she revealed to me a strange-looking crystal. "Now, please hold your hand over this crystal." She said.

I followed her instructions. "Like this?" I asked. What? The crystal suddenly started spinning and glowing and released a beam of light that was almost blinding onto the registration card. The card magically was filled with information about me, including my full name, age, birthday, and even some stats? There's intelligence, strength, agility as the main stats and other minor stats at the bottom.

"With this, you will learn your current status, so please choose your desired occupation based on your stats."

Here it comes! Now I will know what kind of character I am going to be in this parallel world! Then the beam of light faded away, and then the woman picked up the card.

"Yes, thank you very much. So, Shane is it? Let me see... Woah! You have drastically amazing magic power and intelligence! With even high luck too! And even decent numbers on the other stats." She said with excitement in her eyes.

"What is it? Does it mean I'm amazing or something?" I asked.

She's clearly amazed. "A-Amazing is an understatement! The mage class, a sorcerer is my recommendation for you considering your stats!"

"In that case, I'll be a sorcerer, the kind that deals high amounts of damage!" I felt excited and nervous at the same time. Grandfather always said, "With great power, comes great responsibility." But then again, I was supposed to fulfill the Goddess's wishes so this must be coming from her.

"A sorcerer! An almighty class that is in the backline supporting the attack and even the ones to finish the battle quick and swift!" She shouted which caused everyone in the guild to hear.

"Ooooooh!" The crowd cheered, with excitement and joy! But there are some who don't look too happy in the distance. With envy in their eyes.

"Without further ado, welcome to our adventurer's guild, Shane. All of our staff will be looking forward to your future exploits!" The crowd cheered me again, and the eyes of envy stared at me directly.

"Starting off as a sorcerer is incredible!" a voice in the crowd said.

"Someone like you might actually be able to beat the Devil King, you reckless boy!" said the man from before. As the crowd continued to cheer on.

"Pft, show-off." A man from the distance murmured.

I ignored the man from away and they continued to cheer me on!

"It's the adventurer's life for me starting today!" As I jump and raise my hand in excitement!

Well, anyway, everything so far has been basically character creation in some games.

Here, my real adventure is finally about to begin!
