I was frozen in place, as possessed swords are pointing at me. Ready to strike at any moment. I was scared, I was always scared of death. But this time, I knew what it felt like to be at the brink of death.
However, I managed to gather up the courage to speak up, even at the brink of death.
"W-Wait! What do you mean?"
"W-What do I mean?! You called me a little girl! That's what!"
"But... You are a little girl? Aren't you?"
The possessed swords came closer to me, this is getting bad...
"Say that again and I won't hesitate to chop you off."
"U-Um... gulp. Can you please explain? I-I d-don't know why you're g-getting mad when I'm calling you a li-little girl. P-Please! Atleast e-e-explain!" I was so scared that I can barely speak clearly...
"Are you new here, young fellow?"
Young fellow? However, for a little girl she's rather formal with the way she speaks... "Um yes... I just arrived at this town a couple weeks ago."
She lowered her possessed swords and I was relieved... "That explains it. You don't know me do you?" She said.
"Uh, I really don't recognize you... How about you Daz-Diamond? Do you know her?" I almost revealed Dazel's secret there. That was close.
"I didn't recognize her until I saw her magic... But yes, I do know her. She's a blacksmith Shane."
"A blacksmith?"
"A blacksmith can be a class and a job in this world Shane, you don't know that?"
"Uh, no. But what kind of blacksmith are you miss?"
"I'm both! Hehe." She stood up proudly with her hands on her waist.
"Are there any other blacksmiths in town besides you?"
"I'm the only one in this town apparently... All the other blacksmiths are in the capital."
"Why are you here miss? Uh miss...?"
"Call me Miss Faye. Faye Stuss."
"O-Okay Miss Faye... So why are you here?"
"I just wanted to live somewhere peaceful and I couldn't handle the work at the capital so I decided to go back here."
"Oh okay..." I couldn't ask any more questions. I don't want this to turn into a story of her life. Also, I didn't had anything to say to her, besides I just met her now...
"By the way Miss Faye. Why were you hiding in the bushes?"
She flinched as she heard me say those words. She was shaking while trying to figure out on what to reply to my tedious question.
"I-I was watching someone in t-the lake..."
Whom was she watching? We were the only ones at the lake whole afternoon though...
"Who were you watching? We were the only ones there that time..."
She's starting to look suspicious. I glare at her and she noticed and looked away with her hands on her cheeks. She's shaking, are what she said about herself true that she isn't really a little girl? She clearly looks like it with her movements, excluding the way she speaks.
"Okay, I confess. I was watching you, you were the talk at the blacksmith the other day for being a sorcerer first try and I got curious and I got to see for myself..."
"So, why did you jump at me?"
"Eh... I got a little surprised and didn't know what to do, then my body just moved by itself and it jumped to you for no reason..."
That explains it but she still seems suspicious to me, but for now I'll accept what she has to say "O-Okay then..."
"So? What did you learn about Shane?" Dazel said to her.
"H-Hey Diamond!" I added.
"Hmm. I guess he's just a normal mage for me? His spells and magic were too low-tier for me, but I sensed he has a lot of magic power stored inside of him. I guess you were just practicing your magic?"
"Uh yes. I still don't know what my own magic is so that's why I'm training to see what I can really do with my magic..."
"Oh, I get it. But you still seem weak for now... Your training's too simple you should do something that'll unlock your true potential."
"Like what?"
"You can challenge one of the six dragons." She said casually as if she's not scared of them at all.
"W-What?!"
"You heard me, battle atleast one of them. The fear you'll experience in battle may trigger you secret powers."
"Is that really going to work?" Dazel said.
"Of course! It worked for me!" Faye said.
"H-Huh? You battled one of the six dragons? Whom did you battle?" Dazel replied.
"I battled Bahamut, oh he was feisty fellow indeed. Those tornadoes of his tornadoes really did a number on me but I managed to get out of that mess alive and discovered that I can summon possessed swords and shields."
She battled Bahamut? Nonetheless she also assumed Bahamut's a boy. Do people really assume dragons are males? Or is it based on their structures? Bahamut did looked like a terrifying dragon.
I can see Dazel's covering her mouth and shedding out tears from her eyes. She's about to burst in laughter after hearing she's saying Bahamut's a boy. I can relate Dazel, just hold on to it!
"I see that's how you discovered your powers but will that really work on me?"
"I guess we could undergo some training to pull out your true potential."
"That's good- W-We?!" I yelled as I was shocked of what she said. Is she going to train me?
"Mm-hmm. Of course! I was inspired with the determination you had while training for these past days."
"W-Wait... You were watching for the past five days?"
"Huh?! I-I mean yes... I'm sorry for stalking." She bowed her head to me to apologize.
"I-It's okay." I thought who was watching us. I got this weird feeling that we were being watched but I just ignored it and thought it was just some creature in the woods.
"So? Will you accept the offer I am giving to you?"
I don't know if she can really train me, but it's worth giving a shot. This may be better that Dazel since she's just dozing off in the lakeside not even helping me train.
"Well, I can give it a try. I'll accept your offer."
"Well that's settled. See you at the lake tomorrow." She got out of the bed and exited the room, she then waved and walked away leaving Dazel and me in a room with three beds.
What a surprising night this is. Is this a dream? I guess not but I better get some rest, if it's true I'll be starting my training with a blacksmith I just picked up in the forest who tried to kill me. Well, what's the worst thing that could happen to me?
"Dazel, let's get some rest. Goodnight."
"G-Goodnight Shane. Want me to sleep right next to yo-"
"No." I cut her off, what is with her these past few days? But I'll just ignore it for now and get some sleep.
"Oh, okay... Goodnight Shane." Dazel said in a sad tone.
Well. I don't know what can happen now. I met the Demon King and a blacksmith. Was that the reason why the people were looking at me funny? Stop thinking about that and get some rest Shane.
I wonder if I can really discover what my true powers are.
