"D-D-Demon King?!" I shouted in shock of what I've heard.

"Oh? You haven't heard of me boy?" The Demon King said to me.

I just won't believe it... Is this really the Demon King of this land? Of course he's giving off a demonic aura, but for me it isn't too overwhelming of what Demon King I've been expecting, or is he hiding his true identity?

"Uh, no apparently..."

"Well too bad for you... Now that I have revealed myself I should just kill you right now!" He laughed maniacally and instantly vanished out of sight.

"Prepare to die, boy..." I looked back and saw him ready to attack! I didn't even sensed him behind me! With those red glowing eyes with the intent to kill, I don't have a second thought I could survive.

But, I have to survive! I can't die yet! I haven't even fulfilled my duty to defeat this man! If he even is the real Demon King. Suddenly a tingling sensation coursing through my body, it's making me feel, less scared of the man behind me. It feels like power, a strong kind of power, it's burning my old weak soul and turning it into the beast hidden inside of me. Is this the mysterious power given to me? I felt the urge to scream, and I exactly did that.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" I screamed as hard as I can and lightning discharged from my body, causing the Demon King to back up unscathed. A storm of lightning around me faded away after a short while.

"W-What are you? A thunder mage? Heh, so you're one of those weaklings huh? I'll make quick work of you once and for all!"

That felt tiring, but I can still fight if I have too, I didn't knew I had lightning in my body. Is this really the mysterious power bestowed upon me by the Goddess or is it just plain sorcerer magic? He seems to look like he's using reinforcement magic to block my electricity? I must use another spells or I won't even damage him one bit. I look for my spellbook in my pockets, but it wasn't there! I forgot! I left it behind! What kind of sorcerer leaves behind his spellbok? Jeez! I'm dead!

All I have to do is to rely on my own magic, I closed my eyes I concentrated with the little time I had. I saw eight diamonds surrounding a circle, two of the diamonds had the pegasus and salamander icons while the others were blank. What is this? Well, I don't have time to think I must use the power of the salamander instead! But how?! I then quickly concentrated and thought of a salamander, in games salamanders were usually related to fire. Then I felt this fiery sensation ready to release from my soul.

I released multiple fireballs from my bare hands without my spell book. What? That's cool, I won't need a spellbook anymore! However, I nearly hit the Demon King as he dodged quickly.

"W-What?! Lightning and Fire?! What are you? Sorcerers are only limited to one affinity of element!"

"I don't know anything, but I can't let you kill me!"

"Heh, goodluck with that, what can a puny mage like you do to me?"

He's right, he is the Demon King after all, or is he? I don't know but I know he's strong. But it looks like he's getting ready to pounce at me. I won't let my words be words without actions! A golem popped up on my mind and it too was added to the eight diamonds. Is that how it works? Well then, let's see what I can do with this power!

I concentrated and thought of what can a golem and do and I quickly manipulated the ground around the big space in the middle of the castle and made armor out of it. Reinforcing it with the reinforcement magic that earth magic has to withstand even the hardest of attacks. Good thing I've played a lot of MMOs in my life as a shut-in, I didn't knew game knowledge would help me drastically in this world. 

The Demon King stopped and quickly backed off "A third element? What kind of human are you?!"

He looks hesitant to come near me now, I don't know what kind of power I have but from the looks of it I have three out of eight. I have fire, thunder and earth which I'm guessing... Are my powers of those of the elements of different beasts? Well, let's see what I can do to him...

I punched the ground and excreted some of my magic to the ground, making the area around us shake causing everything to break and fall over. The Demon King looked vulnerable from this attack and I manipulated the earth to create a giant hand made out of the earth's surface and grabbed the Demon King. I stopped the earthquake and maintained the hand holding the Demon King.

He was struggling to go free as I walk towards him. "What are you? What kind of power do you have to contain me?"

"I'm just a sorcerer in a town nearby, I was just delivering some booze to you, but thanks to you I've discovered something. Thanks!" I sincerely thanked him for making me find out what power I really have, is this power enough to defeat the Demon King here?

"Thanks? What are you talking about?! Nevertheless, fine, if I can't kill you now, I might kill you the other time we meet again. Thanks for delivering the alcohol here."

He got out and wings grew out from his back and flew upwards. "I may have to say... You truly are interesting, are you perhaps the boy that survived Dazel's trump card?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Dazel? Hmm?"

"U-Um... Yes sir, he's the one who survived."

Dazel's magic? The spell that was supposed to kill me? Is that what he meant?

"Oh, I see... You are an interesting fellow, the prophecy is true about the calamity awaiting us demons. I hope to see you again human, in the gates of hell that is."

He flew off into the dark... I canceled my magic and I collapsed to the ground. That was rough, I never thought I would meet the Demon King so early and I didn't even trained enough.

Dazel ran towards me "Shane? Shane? Are you all right?"

"Um, yes Dazel, how about you? Sorry for involving you in this mess..."

"T-That's okay... I didn't knew the Demon King's castle was on this hill, we just teleported here when we were called and I didn't had an exterior look on the place. But, that was scary, I thought the Demon King would have killed you!"

"Well, lucky me... I survived again..." I feel tired and nauseous.

"I'm glad you're alive Shane." She smiled at me with watery eyes and a worried look on her face.

Doesn't she hate me? What is this?

"What was that power Shane? I didn't see you like that. In our last battle you only attacked with low tier magic and now you've battled the Demon King with high tier magic? What are you?"

"I-I don't know Dazel..."

"Well, we better hurry and get out of this place before he calls the other demon lords..."

"We should, let's go Dazel..."

She nodded and smiled at me. She helped me stand up and we quickly run for the horses... We left the cart behind and rode the horses out of the castle. Unfortunately the castle wall was blocking our paths.

"Acid!" Dazel chanted and the castle door melted and the horses jumped out and got out of the castle premises fast.

That was a rough one, for a delivery quest that was more of like a boss fight... I wonder what will happen next.
