Chapter 27

We walked out the back door and sat in the garden. We talked about random stuff like what had happened during the year, or how much we missed each other, or how much Pansy was worrying.

"Draco!" I faintly heard Lucius call.

I ignored it.

"So yeah, Saint Potter killed a basalisk." Draco said.

"Ok, Harry's my best friend, but did he have to kill the snake?!!" I said.

Draco and I laughed.

"DRACO LUCIUS MALFOY!!!" Lucius yelled quite clearly.

We got up and walked inside. I hid behind Draco as we walked.

"Where are you coming from?!!" Lucius snapped.

"Outside." Draco replied.

"What were you doing outside?" Lucius asked.

"Clearing my head." Draco answered, lying to his father.

I stepped out from behind Draco with my head down and my hands behind my back.

"We were outside talking, Mr Malfoy. And thank you for getting me out of that hell hole early." I spoke the truth.

Draco winced and I looked up slightly. Lucius looked pissed.

"I-I'm sorry. I'll be leaving soon anyways...." I said. "The Weasley's and Harry just need me out of the burrow for a few hours seeing as it's my birthday..."

Lucius didn't say anything, he just rolled his eyes.

"Arthur gave me the letter." Lucius scowled.

"Oh....." I whispered.

"I know you don't want to be here, so leave." Lucius said.

"Who says I don't want to be here?" I asked.

"The letter." Lucius said.

"Just because my parents told me to stay away from your family doesn't mean I have to. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go see my pack." I replied.

I walked outside and turned into a wolf. I ran into the forest and found my nan's cabin. Suddenly another wolf jumped out at me and attacked me.

"Hey!" I yelled.

I managed to push them off of me. They got up and realised who I was.

"Alpha! I'm so sorry, we've just been having issues with a different pack lately...." Hayley said.

We changed into humans and walked back into the clearing.

"It's ok. I've just been in Azkaban for a while." I said.

"Azka-what?" Hayley asked.

"Prison for witches and wizards." I answered.

"Oh." Hayley replied.

"Happy birthday!" I heard William yell.

The rest of the pack came out of hiding and William walked up to me.

"What'd you's he me this year?" I asked.

"Open the present and see." William answered.

I opened the present and there was a box. I opened the box and it was a choker with a crescent moon attached.

I picked it up and smiled. I got William to put it on for me and decided to head back to the manor. William walked me back because of the rogue pack. We were about halfway there when I saw a wolf in the corner of my eye.
