Tom Riddle Era: Faline Potter

First Day of Classes

Important A/N Change of plans I'm making Bilius a Weasley.

Teresa's POV

I went to the great hall with Lyall and the Prewetts. We sat at the Gryffindor table together. "I'm excited to start new subjects this year" Bilius states.

"What subjects you taking?" I ask him.

"Muggle studies and Arithmancy" he states.

"Arithmancy was fun, a lot of work though. But I loved Maths" I tell him shrugging. "I never took muggle studies as I was raised in the muggle world" I add. "So do you have any siblings?" I ask him.

"No, but I always wanted a little brother or sister" he states. Just then Dumbledore appeared and started to hand out Gryffindor timetables. Honestly it's strange seeing him as a normal teacher and not the headmaster.

"Ah Miss Potter, welcome to Hogwarts and Gryffindor. If you have any questions, my office door is always open" he says smiling. He hands me my time table. "You know you're the first student to do Alchemy in a while" he states.

"Really? That's surprising" I say as I study my timetable. "Professor Dumbledore, are you free third period?" I ask him.

"I'm afraid I'm teaching fourth years then" he states. "But I would like to thank you" he adds.

"Thank me?" I ask confused.

"For speaking to Hagrid, he doesn't have many friends" he states.

"It's my pleasure, besides he seems like a nice kid" I tell him. "I hope he and I can be friends" I state. Dumbledore gave me a bright smile before continuing to hand out timetables. Just then my hufflepuff friends appeared with a Ravenclaw. "Morning, Eustace, Pomona, Jack and Abraham" I say smiling.

"Morning, we wanted to introduce to our friend" Eustace states. I look at Ravenclaw who holds his hand out.

"Eric Corner, sixth year" he states.

"Teresa Potter, sixth year" I say shaking his hand.

"You doing Transfiguration?" he asks and I nod my head. "I'm in the same class, I go show you where to go after study hall" he states. I think about it and agree, they probable of the classes in different rooms in this era.

"I have Potions first, is that in the dungeons?" I ask him.

"Yes, exit the hall go left and go down the stairs. Students usual waiting outside and Professor Slughorn is always there early to set up anyway. Just follow the smell of potions" he states. I thank him and he leaves.

After breakfast I make my way to Potions only to be joined by my least favourite Slytherin. "What do you want Riddle?" I ask him.

"To show you to Potions, I have that class now" he states.

"I'm sure I can find it on my own" I tell him as we descend the stairs into the dungeons.

"You know, I'm the only one with a spare seat" he tells me smirking and I groan in annoyance.

"I'd rather work alone" I state as we reach the dungeons. Suddenly he pushes me against the wall. "Get off of me Riddle" I snarl.

"In a moment, why do you seem to despise me so much?" he asks me curious.

"Because I do, I know who you really are and I want nothing to do with you" I state. I then push him away from me and enter the classroom. I notice a few potions up front.

"Ah Miss Potter, I look forward to seeing how you do in Potions" Slughorn says smiling. "There's a spare seat up the front" he adds. So I sit down at the front table and take my book out. Soon the rest of the class appears and Tom sits beside me. I groan internally. "Scales out, everyone, and potion kits, and don't forget your copies of Advanced Potion-Making" he tells us.

I take out my cauldron and scales as I already had my book out. He then had us identify three potions. I got Polyjuice Potion, Veritaserum and Tom got Amortentia. I got twenty points for Gryffindor and Tom got ten for Slytherin. Honestly I still have trouble believing that I'm getting fair points in this class. Even though I had Slughorn in my fifth year.

Slughorn then had us make the Volubilis potion, that changes the drinkers voice. It also counters the silencing charm returning a persons voice. Tom, a Ravenclaw girl and I had the best potions.

"Hi, I'm Susan. Susan Hemlock" she says as we leave the classroom. "Teresa, right?" she asks me and I nod my head. "I'm a prefect and as is my boyfriend William Bones" she states. "If you need any help with study or getting around school. Ask for one of us" she tells me.

"I will, thank you Susan" I say smiling. We went to study hall together and sat with Eric Corner. The three of us talked deciding that we'd study together when we started getting homework. Afterwards Eric showed me to Transfiguration where Dumbledore was warning us about the dangers of human transfiguration as that is one of our main focuses this year. Along with conjuring charms.

We then had lunch where I sat at the Hufflepuff table and meet William Bones. Susan joined us for lunch and we talked about our lessons so far. After Lunch Susan took me to charms. While in class Susan told me how Professor Gamp is Orion Black's grandmother. But she doesn't give him special treatment in class. Also she keeps her maiden name for Hogwarts, but everyone else knows her as Mrs Black wife to Sirius Black the second.

After Charms William appeared and took me to the greenhouses for herebology. I find out Professor Beery is the conductor of the Frog Choir and loves amateur performances. In Herebology we would be dealing with more dangerous plants than ever before. But at least we were still allowed to swear loudly if the Venomous Tentacula seized us unexpectedly from behind.

Out of all the classes I had, I only got homework for Charms. An essay on turning vinegar into wine. Also in all the classes we'd be learning non-verbal spells. That should be fun.
