Tom Riddle Era: Faline Potter

First Kiss

(December 20th, 1943) Teresa's POV

Tom and I have been together for nearly two months. But we still haven't kissed yet and I haven't seen him change in attitude yet. Sure he's pleasant around me and treats me like a princess. However, I have a feeling that he is holding back and I don't know why. Dumbledore says I should give Tom time as he has never had feelings before. Which I understand, just wish it didn't take so long.

Tomorrow we'd be leaving for my grandparents. I hope being surrounded by a true family during Christmas. Will help him open up more to his feelings. But this time of year is also reminding me my old life.

Have they realized I'm gone? Are they searching for me? Does time pass different here? Is Harry ok? Has he proposed to Ginny yet? I miss my big brother and his friends. I also miss my friends Ginny and Luna.

"Faline" Tom says sitting beside me wiping my tears away. I hadn't even realized I'd been crying. I was just sitting in the astronomy tower thinking about everyone I missed. Everyone I've lost since coming here.

"It's Teresa" I mumble.

"Why are you crying?" he asks me wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"I was just thinking about my old life, everyone I left behind. They're probably preparing for Christmas" I tell him gloomily.

"What about all the friends you've made in coming here" he reminds me. "They are worried and wondering where you've disappeared to" he states.

"I didn't mean to worry them. I just wanted to be alone for a bit" I tell him as I lean my head on his shoulder.

"You can't keep thinking about that life Teresa, this is your life now. You should impress it" he tells me.

"I know I should, but it's harder then you think to let them go. Especially this time of year. A time of family and friends" I tell him.

"You'll be with your grandparents and you have friends in the great hall waiting for you" he tells me smiling.

"I'm not hungry" I mumble. Suddenly he pulls me to my feet and drags me towards the window. "Tom, what are you.... Ahh!" I shout as he throws us out of the window. I close my eyes holding him tightly. I soon hear him laughing and open my eyes to see us floating in midair. I look  up at him and pout. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I demand.

"If I was, would I do this?" he asks and lets us fall. I scream burring my head in his chest. But we land on the snow gently as he laughs.

"It's not funny" I grumble.

"Come on" he says smiling dragging me over to the lake. He then transfigures our shoes into ice skates. He pulls me onto the frozen lake.

"I don't know how to ice skate" I tell him holding his arms tightly.

"Don't worry, if you fall. I'll catch you" he assures me. He gets beside me and shows me how to skate. After a few skates I lose my balance and fall taking him with me. He turns us over and I land on him. We both laugh.

I then look into his dark brown eyes with my own hazel ones. I go to get off him, but he wraps his arms tightly around me. Pulling me close to him. I go to say something but am cut off by his warm soft lips being place on my own. I freeze in shock and slowly kiss him back.

We soon pull away for air and look into each other's eyes. I get off of him blushing when I hear the sound of hooves on the ice. I look over to see Firenze galloping over. "Firenze, stop!" I shout and he slides across the ice. He stops on the thin ice and he begins to crack.

"Teresa!" he whimpers.

"Don't worry, you'll be ok" I assure him grabbing my wand. "I'm going to summon you to me, just don't move ok" I tell him. He nods his head and Tom looks confused. "Accio Firenze" I say and he slowly slides over to me. Once he was in reach I pulled him into my arms transfiguring my skates into ice shoes.

I walk Firenze to the shore and kneel down with him in my arms. Borias gallops over and takes Firenze into his arms. "Thank you Teresa" he tells me.

"Anything for a friend" I tell him. "Firenze, you shouldn't run on ice or frozen water. It's dangerous" I tell him.

"I just wanted to see you" he tells me.

"I'm happy to see you, just use your head next time" I tell him smiling. Just then Tom wraps an arm around me pulling me close. "Firenze, this is Tom my mate" I say.

"Ewe, girls have cooties" he says.

"Oh really?" I ask him smirking mischievously. I place a big kiss on his cheek and he squeals. "I'm sure you'll find your soulmate one day as I have" I tell him smiling. "Tom this is Firenze and his dad Borias" I add.

"Pleasure, but we must be going" Tom states. "Our friends are waiting for us" he states. Firenze hugs me before returning to the forest with his dad. Tom then leads me back to the castle.
