Chapter 20

Y/n couldn't believe his eyes. The hero he despised the most, was standing so pathetically before the most powerful villain. With hollowed cheeks and sunken in eyes, All Might seemed like a completely different person.

"What a scrawny 'top hero' you've become!" All For One scoffed. "But don't be embarrassed! That's you're true form, isn't it?!"

"No..." Y/n muttered, his fingers digging into the pavement beneath him. "No...This isn't true." He refused to believe that the one he was meant to destroy, was this skeletal, shaking man before him. "This can't be true..." Y/n balled his hands up into fists, dirt and small pieces of rubble squeezed between his palm and fingers. "Don't tell me I've suffered so much...." His lip quivered, his voice wavering. "I've suffered so much...for a person like this?!" He lifted his fist up and slammed it back down into the pavement, the impact creating a small crater beneath his hand. "All Might?!!" He shouted out towards the hero.

The pro hero's eyes widened as his student shed tears, biting his lip so hard that blood began to trail down his chin. All Might would have never imagined y/n looking so distraught and in so much pain.

"You hear that, All Might? Your pathetic appearance has only brought distress upon others-!" All For One was cut off as All Might raised his voice.

"No. However much my body may be withering away...And however much that's been exposed for all to see...My heart is still the heart of the Symbol of Peace!! And that heart isn't something you could ever take the smallest piece away from!!" All Might clenched his fist, growling at the villain.

"Magnificent! How could I forget that childish obstinacy of yours?" All For One sneered. "I wonder if your heart will remain unscathed after you hear this...You see..." The villain took a step forward, gait confident. "Shigaraki Tomura is Shimura Nana's grandson." He stated, All Might's eyes going wide. "This entire time, I've been devising that which would upset you. I orchestrated an opportunity for you and Tomura to face off, and you smacked him down, beaming with the pride of victory, and so blissfully unaware."

"You lie..." All Might shook his head.

"Oh, but it is the truth. Surely you don't doubt that it's something I would do, do you?" All For One questioned. "What's this, All Might? How odd...Whatever happened to that smile?" All For One brought his hands up, using the tips of his thumbs to lift up his cheeks, imitating a smile.

"You...You bastard!!!"

"Just as I thought...How delightful! I did manage to rob you of a precious little piece of your heart!" The villain cheered. All Might became livid, shouting out in both frustration and anger. His breaths were heaving, his distress clear from his posture.

"Don't give up...All Might...Please..." The woman stuck under the rubble behind All Might whimpered, reaching out towards the number one hero. "Save me!" She cried. The hero's eyes widened, his fists clenching even tighter. He brought his arm up, some sort of electric current running down the limb, the muscles bulging up and enlarging.

"Have no fear, young lady." All Might called out. "Ah, you were right, All For One...Heroes have so many things, so many people to protect!!" The corner of the number one hero's lip curled upwards, his signature smile returning to his face. "That's the very reason they can't lose!" He lifted up his arm, ready to take a swing.

"Use all your might. After all, that will be your last swing, All Might." All For One took a step forward. "Wounded heroes are always the most fearsome ones." The villain jumped into the air, his quirks activating, his arm coiling and building up tension again. "In my dreams, I still sometimes see you coming toward me. Your face dead set despite your strewn bowels. I suppose I should watch out for swings two and three then-" All For One was cut off as he dodged a large blast of fire. Y/n flinched as his skin felt the burning heat of Endeavor nearing his collapsed form.
