Fran just walks into her home when a man rises from the couch.
He asks sternly, "Where were you? It's almost 1 AM."
Fran cringes, she doesn't expect her father still awaken at this hour.
She lies, "Hanging out with Shawn. Didn't realize it's so late..."
"Don't come home too late again. The city isn't the safest one in the world."
"Yes, Daddy. Sorry."
His father smiles before he yawns loudly.
"I better get some sleep. My princess is back. Now I could sleep at peace."
"Night, Dad."
His father looks tired. He had been working for long hours in a workshop, fixing and tuning up cars.
Bill never went to college. When he barely graduated from high school, he impregnated his girlfriend. Resulting with Fran.
He did many odd jobs to keep them floating. Her mom did the same. Doing part time jobs to keep their financial numbers green.
When her mom got killed in a car accident last year, it broke their hearts. Keeping their heads floating above debts are getting harder and harder nowadays.
Fran says for herself, "I did nothing wrong tonight. Keeping David happy. Paying Joe's hospital bills. Saving money for college."
She still felt dirty for letting David used her up. But the sex part with him are too...out of this world...
Although a virgin like her couldn't do any comparison at all.
She yawns.
Suddenly felt the fatigue.
Luckily tomorrow is Saturday. She could sleep until mid morning.
She got twelve missed calls from Shawn. She doesn't even bother to call him back.
When her head touches her pillow, she's drifted to dream world easily.

A knock on her apartment door repeatedly.
Fran opens it.
Shawn smiles sheepishly.
He asks nervously, "May I come in?"
"Sure. Why not?"
"Fran, I'm sorry, I fucked up. We are still friends, right?"
He flashes his signature smile. The one which could melt any girl's heart.
