"Look at that. Awesome." Kai said as he looked at the island
"Let me see." Karloff said and he shoved Kai
"Do you mind?" Kai said and both of them got ready to fight again
"Both of you quit it!" Misty hissed "We're about to get off and not a moment too soon I was starting to get sea sick..."
"Welcome to Chen's Island. The Tournament of Elements welcomes its brave fighters. Master Chen will be pleased you've returned, Sensei Garmadon." Clouse said as Garmadon stepped off the boat followed by the others.
"This pleasure is all mine, Clouse" Gramadon answered
"I'm sure it is." Clouse said
"Definitely feeling some tension between you two." Jay said
"Yeah, and how is it we're on an island I've never seen any map?" Kai said
"And care to explain how the face to Ninjago's most popular noodle house is secretly underground fighting tournament?" Cole said
"Master Chen used to be a friend. Now he's a traitor. During the Serpentine Wars, Chen turned against his own kind and sided with the treacherous snakes." Sensei explained
"The battle you and Uncle Wu fought together in? He was an enemy?" Lloyd asked
"He used deception to divide the Elemental Masters. We barely defeated the Serpentine, and in a deal for his surrender, Chen was to never leave this island. Little did we know, he'd begin to build his criminal empire in here."
"He may have divided our ancestors, but he's not gonna divide us." Lloyd agreed
"I hope your right Lloyd... we can't lose anyone else." Misty said As they began to walk up the steps to the door.
"Uh... Ladies first. Fire will melt her icy heart. Just wait." Kai said He had pushed everyone to the side even Misty.
"Really?" Misty muttered "When was that a rule when we were training."
Gramadon Sighed
"Please, if he's trying to get a girl like her the key is to not try as much as he is." Misty said when she was walking next to Lloyd.
"And how would you know that you acted just like her when we both met. " Lloyd said smirking
Before Misty could say anything Cole cut her off by saying, "This is a big island. Zane could be anywhere. Keep an eye out."
"So, this is the house that noodles built. Ha! Always wanted to go to a red carpet event." Jay said
"Chen lives like a King. Here, he's totally self-sufficient. The only way on or off this island is with his permission, which you have to earn." Sensei said
"You never told me about this place. How do you know so much about this island?" Lloyd asked
"Because before Chen was my enemy, he was my Sensei." Garmadon said
"You never told me you had a Sensei." Lloyd said All of them were sitting in a circle
"When I was your age, I sought a darker means of guidance. He taught me to win no matter who I hurt. It wasn't until you saved me that I saw the light." Sensei said explained
"Uh, apparently he also never taught you to have a sense of humor. Lighten up, we're in an underground fight club. This is supposed to be fun." Jay said
A Gong sounded and then someone started to play music
"All rise for Master Chen." Clouse said
A throne came down from the ceiling.
"Welcome to the Tournament of Elements. Now everyone can all die!" Chen said and the door closed with a bang.
All of them Gasped
Lloyd heard Misty muttered "I knew it we're all going to die, here."
"Direct your attention to me." Chen said he was Laughing
"I forgot to mention he has a penchant for theatrics." Gramadon said
Chen stepped down from his throne and began to walk arouth circle "Hee, hee, hee! Never before have so many Elemental Fighters been under one roof. I see Master of Fire, Earth, Shadow, Speed. Even a prophesied Green Savior. but you are the Master of what?" Chen said to Misty
"Your going to have to find out." Misty said
Chen then turned and looked at Garmadon "And a former pupil has returned. The symbol before you is for the Anacondrai, fieriest Serpentine warrior to ever roam this land. It's creed: "Only one can remain.
One of the workers used the Gong once more and then it opened to show a bracket.
"Good, looks like we're each in our own bracket. We won't have to face each other for a while." Kai said
"Better find Zane before that happens." Lloyd said
"Agreed, I rather not use my power on a living thing... unless I have too" Misty said
" Behold a Jade Blade. Here, it represents life. Obtain it, move on. Allow your opponent to take it... Loser. The rules are simple. Every match will be different. Now two fights will be the same. Your powers will keep you in the tournament. Use it or lose it." Chen said
"Hm. What does Karloff win?" Karloff asked
"Win and stay on this island. Win at all, and you'll receive fortunes beyond your wildest dreams, and lifetime supply of Master Chen noodles. But no one is here because of noodle. You want the the glory of being greatest fighter in all of Ninjago." Chen said
"And what happens if they lose?" Garmadon said
"Lose? Who here likes to lose?" Chen said
Everyone was laughing except for Misty
"Now please, enjoy my island. It's a super fun place. Ha, ha, ha. Fun time on me." Chen said
"You'll now each be shown to your rooms." Clouse said
"Ah, just what this place needs. Creepy clowns." Jay said as some people with face paint on.
"Not just clowns. Kabuki, Chen's jesters". Garmadon said
"Yeah, well, whatever, they are, I don't like 'em. So much for staying together." Cole said as his person dragged him off.
"Lloyd! I need to tell you something!" Misty said and she reached her hand out toward Lloyd's, he reached out toward her too but her person dragged her off to far.
"Come find me and we can talk" Lloyd said as he was dragged off.
"Always be ready. Never loses focus." Sensei said but they couldn't hear him.
Misty did see Clouse dragging Garmadon away though.
"Sensei!" and Misty said she tried to pull away from her Kabuki guide but couldn't.
"Don't worry Misty!" Garmadon said
