third pov...
A week had gone by since y/n had woken up from her coma. Jason had to go on a mission with Roy.
Wally was put in charge of training y/n, Barry would help if needed especially when it came to phasing because even Wally had troubles with learning that. And apparently, y/n was following in his footsteps.
They were in the training room. Y/n was behind a brick wall trying to phase through it, but it wasn't working
"I can't do it!" she exclaimed punching the wall "I've been at it for almost two hours and I still can't do it!".
Wally felt for her. It took him forever to learn how to phase, but y/n's situation was different. Barry walked over to the frustrated girl and put his hand on her shoulder "y/n you're stressed". That only brought a memory y/n tried to forget.
your pov, flashback, a year ago...
I was visiting my mom at the hospital. She has stage four cancer meaning she has days left to live.
I don't go to school anymore. I work my butt off night and day to pay the medical bill.
"y/n? are you ok?" my mom asks in her usual week voice.
I was sitting at the window in her hospital room. "I'm fine" I reply dully "no y/n, you're not fine," she said in the most assertive voice she could muster "you're stressed. you work two jobs and you neither go to school nor taking care of yourself".
I was trying not to cry. Doesn't she realize if I go to school I can't work the hours I need to pay the bills? After dad died we always struggled with money but mom worked a well-paying job. But now that she can't work I have too.
"like I said, I'm fine" I scoffed not making eye contact with her. "you need to forget about me, you need to live your life. your still a kid. go stay with my sister Cassy in Gotham. live the life you can't live here"
. I can't believe she said that! my own mother telling me to forget about her? that's insane! "what are you talking about mom?!! I'm not going to just forget about you!" I yelled now standing next to her "your insane if you think your own daughter is going to forget about you!...I'm not dad!". With that, I marched out of her room.
end of flashback...
"y/n?" I heard Barry say my name as I stared a hole into the brick wall in front of me. His hand on my shoulder snapped me out of my daze, back into the real world.
"what did you say?" I asked "I just said you're stressed" am not" I retorted "I need to get this down. I'll be useless if I can't phase".
My fists clenched as I stood straight. Barry backed away. "let me handle this Bar" I heard Wally say. I ignored him. I started lining my self up to try phasing again. I was about to run when I felt a hand on my wrist "come on" Wally said pulling me "where?".
Man, this would be a great time for phasing. "you need to be a teenager again. so we're going to go see friends" with that he stopped pulling on me "now follow me".
I followed Wally, both of us using super speed. I wasn't even paying attention to where we were going till we were already there.
The Wayne Manor.
Wally knocked on the door, a few minutes later the door opened. "Ah! master West! miss y/n! come in!" thanks Alfred" Wally chirped. I just gave him a smile. Then I heard yelling and thuds, I rolled my eyes for I knew exactly who it is.
I zoomed through the Manor to find the two fighting raveonettes in the game room, Tim and Damian rolling around on the floor on top of each other. "you hacked the game!" no I didn't!" then how'd you win?! you're not that good!" I swear if you tell me I hacked the game one more time I'm gonna-" I cut Tim off "Ahem!".
Both the boy's heads whipped around to look at me Tim smiling "you're awake!! I thought I told Cisco to let me know when you woke up!" he ran over to me and pulled me into a hug.
"apparently Wally thought I should tell you myself" I giggle "let go Drake" make me!" Tim retorted sticking his tongue out at Damian, tightening his hug.
"it's good to see you y/n" Damian said in a very formal voice. Just like his dad. I pulled Tim off me and went over to Damian and pulled the 13-year-old boy into a hug
"it's good to see you too Dami" I chirped. Damian was stiff as a board. I laughed at his social awkwardness and put him down.
Then I heard Dick yell behind me "you're alive! I can't believe it!" then he pulled me into a hug from behind. "I...I can't breath" I wheezed as Dick was giving me a bone-crushing hug.
Even though I have speed healing I can still feel bones breaking. "oh sorry" Dick put me down and gave me a sheepish grin.
Wally walked in "hey guys!" Wally? what are doing here?" Dick asked putting his arm around him "y/n needed a break I did too so I thought why not come see the bat family?" Wally said.
"why don't you guys stay a few days? loosen up and have fun" Dick asked with his usual pearly white smile. I'd like to stay but I need to get back to training "I..I don't think so, you see-" I think that would be fun! count us in!" Wally interrupted.
And just like that I was staying in the Wayne manor but for some reason I was ..happy? about it, for a small grin was tugging at my lips.
