Jungkook's P.O.V
The next day everyone was ready to go out by the early 7.
Of course I had difficulty waking up since I went to sleep late. I had been busy sitting in the balcony sipping some strong tea and musing upon mindless philosophies.
My mind had been occupied by so many things that I was worried now of what I could really do to calm myself. I wasn't one to panic but the thought of making Namjoon lose whatever bet he had made didn't sit well with me.
I wasn't the kind who backstabbed people for my own greed. And living with them for a month had made me realise how important relations were, how just a small conversation could lighten up the heavy burden resting beneath one's thoughts.
Earlier I had no attachments but now the present was different and there were a bunch of people I couldn't betray. I wanted to see them smiling.
Oh how things had changed...
And I started noticing it a month back during my encounter with Chimchim and I wasn't going to unchange it, whatever had happened to me seemed for the better.
"We should go visit the arena, we don't want to be late in entering your name."
I turned to see Hobi hyung making his way towards our group, his hands full with a small box I couldn't help but be intrigued with.
"This is your battle uniform."
"I will have one?" I questioned curiously, if they were giving it to me then it would be my first gift after that dreadful incident. As my parents were the only ones who ever gave me presents on my birthday.
"We can't have you losing out there just because of a missing uniform, you will only have a chance with them if you are well prepared."
"But Hobi hyung," I was cut off by him as he ignored me for the favour of his mate.
Taehyung was struggling with his shirt button which was too big to fit in the cut provided, if anymore force was used, his shirt would be torn my the seams.
Hoseok though helped him out with it, doing his own trickery for the better.
"What are we waiting for then," Jackson questioned, "Let's go."
So everyone followed him, even our hyungs did, and surprisingly they never felt the need of stepping up their superior status, they let Jackson be the acting alpha. It was an intimate gesture of familiarity and warmth. A very melodious set of brotherly pack instinct.
And maybe that was why I never felt suppressed when with them, I could act out and had freedom to do anything, only keeping in mind to not harm them unknowingly. Hurting one's own member was the worst possible deed one could do.
I walked along the parting crowd who was busy navigating through the town, each one having their own tasks to do. But just as we entered the busier street, I felt my extended pack go stiff on instinct, unconsciously gathering closer to me, as if guarding me.
Ignoring the certain swell of emotions, I looked out for the enemy and wasn't surprised to find the Kwongs. They weren't the same people but smelled similar and wore similar.
Every pack had its own scent so it wasn't difficult telling who they were.
"They are simply buying weapons, ignore them," Taehyung suddenly ordered, turning to us, his serious golden gaze startlingly us all.
"But hyung, if we cross them they would know," Bambam retorted anxiously. And Yugyeom nodded in agreement.
"Doesn't matter, this whole town is under strict surveillance of the council, if they make a move the council members would surely act."
