Chapter 50

Jungkook's P.O.V.

I had expected Jimin to be aloof, angry, or even maybe... supportive. But instead, he shut down completely and left the room, without saying a word to me. Even the mental linkage wasn't enough to hear his thoughts now.

I had told him about my birth, the experiments and even what Slughorn had told me. The messengers agenda seemed clear and so was what we should do about them. But Jimin did not reply to me, he didn't even utter a single syllable. He simply left, his aura also not giving away anything.

The more time passed the more I got better, my stomach less queasy, yet I was shrouded with concern, was Jimin repulsed? Was he sad? Or was he angry?

I didn't know anything, which was disastrous, since I was his mate and I had no inkling of what he was thinking.

My wolf whined, feeling rejected and the sudden realization that it maybe the case had me reeling with emotions I couldn't comprehend.

I should wait for him, that was what felt right concerning the case, still... the thought and the fear of being abandoned made my heart ache, my whole body shivering and feeling empty.

"Jimin?" I called, although my voice came out as just a whisper.

"You are there?" I called again, however he wasn't answering back and that broke me. 

This time a real very loud whine escaped my throat. And if I was any saner I would have followed Jimin, saw to it to receive some sort of judgement from him, but I had no strength left in me, my wolf was suddenly overpowering my senses and taking over the hurt feelings in me.

What would happen to me now, would Jimin leave me? Would he?

Will I be just another omega in town?

I was stronger than this, I could survive without him, and even if we needed each other, maybe we would just live by separately and meet up once or twice during the season-

I held back my thoughts, feeling much of an idiot to instantly think so negatively, yet I couldn't phantom why Jimin did not answer me, even now he wasn't coming back to me and I am sure he knew what I was thinking yet-

The door to our room was flung open as Namjoon hyung rushed in, looking every bit panicked. Hid brows were sweaty and his breathing labored.

"What did you tell him Jungkook?" he practically screamed at me, his wolf tense and his aura flickering.

"I-" there was a sudden itch inside me which gave me enough reason to panic, what had Jimin done now??

"I am not angry at you," the hyung clarified, calming down slightly, "but please, tell me fast so we know why the prince rushed off to the lower lands in his wolf form."

What?

"I told him about a few dealings I had with Slughorn and what I know of the messengers."

Namjoon hyung paled and I also wasn't feeling any better. All the indications left me baffled, like Jimin was close to his rut yet he was rushing out there to god knows where. Or maybe... we already knew.

"You don't say, he didn't just rush to declare war at those messengers, he doesn't even knows where their base it."

Hyung nodded, "Actually we know, and before Jimin went to pick you up, we had Intel as to where exactly the base was located. It was something we had decided to deal with once the rut was done with, it was the Prince himself who announced it in a meeting."

"T-Then what do we do hyung? This is not good, I mean Jimin shouldn't be this reckless now-"

He cut me off with a long sigh. "His wolf must be the one making decisions as of now, we need to stop him, something must have triggered him, it isn't uncommon to give in to our wolf side when the human one is weaker. Especially during the rut."
