"No!"
I smacked the ketchup bottle out of Riley's hand before she put it on her mac n cheese again.
"Maya," she groaned. "It's just ketchup, let me live."
"Do you deserve to live if you put ketchup on your macaroni?"
She shook her head in disbelief, scooting herself on the opposite side of the bench.
"Kidding, babe," I rolled my eyes. "But still, don't ever put ketchup on macaroni in my presence."
She smirked and returned back to her original spot. "Well, when I'm in London, I'll put as much ketchup as I want and you won't be there to stop me. Oh, and I'll text you just to let you know!"
"You wouldn't dare."
"Watch," she whispered, staring coldly into my eyes.
"You'll be too busy with your new friends to annoy me about ketchup," I frowned.
She laughed and ruffled my hair. "You're right! I could just completely cut you off when I move. Life would be so much better."
I was a little hurt by her comment. "Are you serious?"
"No, of course not, Peaches," she sighed and took my hand. "How could I ever do that? Who knows where I'd be without you by my side all these years."
"But what if you get so caught up with your new friends, you forget about me?"
"I could never forget you," she softly said. "In fact, I'll probably text you non stop because I love everything about you!"
I smiled and kissed her cheek. "And maybe I'll respond. Once in a while."
She pouted and I ruffled her hair.
"So...one more week, Riles."
"It doesn't feel like that," she mumbled. "Everything feels normal. Which is bad because nothing's gonna be normal soon."
I picked at my food with my fork and sighed. I didn't want to eat when it felt like my insides were imploding.
I stood up and sat on the couch to watch TV. She quickly finished her food and sat next to me. I put my head on her shoulder and closed my eyes.
"I love you so much, Riley."
She intertwined our hands and planted a kiss on mine. "I love you, too."
"There's no way you're gonna be gone from my life just like that," I lifted my head with a frown. "We're forever, Riles! How could this happen to us?"
She didn't respond.
"I guess we should face it," I lied down and softly rested my head in her lap. "There's no hope for us, Riles. It's the end of Riley and Maya."
She quietly laughed and ran her fingers through my hair. "Hey. There's no end to us. Riley and Maya forever."
She leaned down and let her lips brush against mine before kissing me.

After a long nap, I woke up to the deafening sound of something scraping the hardwood. I groaned and got up from Riley's bed. I don't know how she was still asleep.
I went downstairs and found the Matthews trying to move the couch to the side. Auggie was eating breakfast in the kitchen, watching them struggle. I silently laughed. Auggie really is my favorite Matthews.
