"Riles, wake up!" I yelled in her ear.

"No, five..." her voice trailed off.

"Five more minutes?"

She mumbled nonsense and I chuckled.

Today we were going back to New York. I'm surprised I woke up first, considering it was almost 4 AM and we went to bed really late last night. We packed everything a few days ago so I guess a few minutes wouldn't hurt.

If I could stay here I'd be so happy.

I didn't want to go back home because then the fact that she's leaving will sink in and I'll be hopeless. This past week has made me extremely happy but in a few more, I'll be devastated.

She got up after a while and went to the restroom. I took out my phone, scrolling through my camera roll which was filled with pictures of us. I'm gonna be a whole mess without her by my side.

When she returned and sat next to me, I put my phone aside and kissed her cheek.

"We're going in two hours," I informed her.

She nodded and swiftly put her hand behind my neck, pulling me closer. I kissed her lips and slowly pushed her against the bed. I planted little kisses on her jawline down to her neck, loving how her breathing grew shakier with each kiss.

I lifted my head and gazed into her eyes, wanting to say three words that I never thought I'd tell her. At least, not meaning it in this way.

"I love you," I softly said. "I'm in love with you, Riley. It took years to realize it but I'm glad I did."

"I'm in love with you too, Maya," she beamed, leaning in for a short but sweet kiss.

How am I supposed to love her when we're oceans away?

"I'm surprised you sat with me through the whole flight this time."

I chuckled and grabbed the last suitcase from baggage claim. "I still think you have no taste in Disney classics but whatever. I can't hold a grudge forever, right?"

She intertwined our hands and we caught up to Farkle and Zay who were searching for Riley's parents.

I caught Mr. Matthews in the corner of my eye and we ran over to him.

"Hey, Matthews!"

"Maya," he smiled. "Did you guys have fun? Did Riley go near any guys?"

"She didn't look at a single boy," I stifled a laugh. "Trust me."

"Hi, Dad," Riley said, suffocating him with a hug.

Farkle and Zay greeted him afterward, and Farkle began telling him about the trip.

"It was amazing! We rode every single ride, I drank butterbeer, Riley and Maya actually-"

"-Riley and Maya became wizards!" Zay chimed in, saving Farkle from completely outing us.

I let out a sigh of relief and a forced laugh. "Wizards! Yeah."

After Farkle finished panicking over what he almost said, he relaxed and laughed. "It was pretty magical if I do say so myself."
