I'm running. I'm running and running. I'm running down a dark, empty, trash lined alleyways, my heart pounding in my chest with every step. Something's chasing me, no, someone is chasing me. But I don't dare look behind me. I don't know where I am, where I'm going, or what ungodly monster is chasing me. It doesn't matter. I just need to get away. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught blip of scarlet splattered across the walls. Was it just my imagination? Whatever, doesn't matter. Turning sharp corners, my mind raced a mile a minute. There has to be a way out, right? This place is like a damn maze reeking of deja vu. My feet pounded against the pavement as my legs pumped as fast as they could. I've been here before! This all seems so familiar, I swear I've seen it before. I know it! But where? That's when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a light emanating from around a corner. That's it! My escape. As I bolted for my salvation, I could notice towering brick walls were becoming slowly splattered in a crimson color. It started out as a few splashes here and there but as I continue down the path, the walls became practically drenched in it. The thing, whatever it is, was still chasing me. I could hear its footsteps behind me, rapidly tapping. The light was getting closer, I'm almost there. I turned the corner, expecting my escape, only to be met with a horrifying sight. Before me was a dead end filled with piles of bodies. Just piles and piles of bodies. The truly sickening fact was that; they were all me. My bodies lined the dead end, some slouched lifelessly against the dark red walls, others lying on the ground. There was a message written in a wine color over a mural, 'JUST DIE'.

Oh...Oh god...It took all my power not to wretch right there. An arrow pointed to a spot currently not occupied by any bodies.

I- I have to get out of here! I pivoted around quickly. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I was proven wrong. He came into view, pointing his revolver directly at me with a satin white shirt stained a cardinal color. I instinctively backed away, his crazed amethyst eyes stared me down with a twisted smile.

"Please....please don't do this...!" He proceeded towards me, inching closer.

"Please, I trusted you! I thought we were friends!" My begging did not phase him at all. I backed against the wall, pressing myself into it. Staring down the barrel of my demise, I held my breath. Hoping there was some ounce of redemption within him, that deep down there was some good left in him.

"Please..." I whispered "Don't do this...It doesn't have to be like this."

All he did was smile wickedly.

"Have fun, Neku...."

BANG.

Jolting up, I started sucking in air to bring me back to reality. I held myself closely, wheezing in trembling breaths. Oh my god...Was that real? It...It felt so...Oh god, that can't be real, It couldn't be real! It can't, It's not real, It's not real, It's not real. It's not real. It's not real. It's not real. It's not-

"Neku, Sweetie, are you okay? I heard you screaming..."

A soothing voice caught my attention. I looked to see my mom standing in the open doorway, concern projected clearly in her eyes.

"Neku, You're shaking..." She walked over cautiously.

"I-I'm fine...I just-"

"You had another nightmare?" She asked cautiously, sitting down on the bed.

I nodded solemnly, her gaze softened.

"Is it okay if I hug you?" She reached a hand up hesitantly.

"I think so..."

"Tell me if you want me to stop..." She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me closely. She nuzzled her neck into the crook of mine, I heard a sigh behind my ear.
