I arrived at about 10 or so. I stood in the doorway as I heard the chattering of familiar voices. The air filled with the rich scent of coffee beans roasting.
"Hey, Phones"
I looked ahead to see Sanae holding a white coffee cup in one hand while he leaned on the table. Joshua and V were sitting there. Joshua was sipping lightly colored coffee before turning to look at me. V was typing on a computer, his fingers moving furiously along the black keyboard, Not even looking up.
"Hey, Mr.H"
"Ah, Neku. You're here." Josh gave his usual smirk
"Long time no see Mr.H"
"Yeah, It's been like a month hasn't it Phones?"
"Yeah"
V was still typing away on his computer, what was he even doing?
"Mr.H? Have you met V yet?"
"I have" He looked down at V, still silent as he raced his fingers across the keys.
"Hanekoma, I have obtained the items you asked me to retrieve" a monotone voice spoke from a door labeled 'Staff only' opened and a familiar pair of red eyes carried a bag of coffee beans.
"Ah, Thanks for getting that for me Akane."
She nodded after she put the bag on the counter and sat down at the table.
"Coffee phones?"
"No thanks, I'm good"
"Say Neku, where are the others?" Josh asked
"Not sure, I think they should be here soon"
Just as I said that I heard a "Yo!" from the entrance. I turned to see the rest of the gang walking in.
"Hey guys" I turned around completely in my chair. Resting my arms on the back, and having my legs hang off the sides.
"Hey there, Shiki, Beat, Rhyme. Nice to see you all are doing well" Mr.H said as he leaned on the table with his arm
"You too Mr.H!" Rhyme said with delight, her smile lighting up the room.
"Any of you want coffee?"
"No thanks, I'm good" Shiki smiled
"Same here" Beat said as he clasped his hands behind his neck.
"Suite yourselves"
Joshua cleared his throat loudly, clearly trying to bring attention to himself.
"Now that everyone's' here, let's get down to business"
"Yeah let's" I replied swinging my legs around to sit in the chair normally.
"Now, has anyone read the mission yet?" Joshua asked
Everyone went into an awkward silence
"I did" V said looking up from his laptop. He reached into his hoodie and pulled out his black cellphone. After a few beeps and taps, V spoke
"Today's mission, defeat 60 noise around Shibuya-"
"Wait, WHAT!?" Beat interrupted
"60!? I thought this was the first day!" I joined in.
"What's the time limit?" Shiki joined as well
"24 hours, so at midnight"
"And the time right now is 10:35 AM" Akane said in her monotone, lifeless voice. Her posture upright and rigid, almost as if she was a mannequin.
