Everything was going by slowly while Vanessa was rushing Jacob as fast as she humanly could to get to the Reserve. He was groaning in pain, sweat dripping from his forehead as she was struggling to not break her secret. She stopped when Jacob fell, panting heavily. "I-I can't go home. I feel so hot." He panted out, taking his shirt off while the girl nods her head.

"I know, Jacob. I know. You need to breathe. We are almost to the Reserve and Billy can help you." She told him, the boy screaming as his back popped, the girl seeing his spine collapse while she sighed. "Never mind, we don't have time." She whispered, Jacob taking in her words.

"Wh-What? What's going to happen?" He asked while Vanessa grabbed her phone, calling Sam. "Vanessa." He cried, the girl placing her cool hands over his face.

"It's okay, breathe. Just breathe." She whispered, hearing Sam on the other line. "Where are you, Sam? I thought you can feel when new wolves turn?" She asked, Sam sighing.

"You're with him, Vanessa. As long as one of us are with them, our powers don't work like that with you being there." He told her, taking a moment to think. "Where are you?" He asked, the woman sighing while looking around.

"I-I don't know." She muttered and heard Jacobs wrist snap as he screamed. "Just-Just near the Reserve. I can't- -" She paused as Sam stopped her.

"Vanessa, you can. You were part wolf before, it's still in you." He told her while she looked to Jacob.

The girl held onto him while taking a deep breath, she looked at Jacob's eyes that were filled with pain. She nods her head while hanging up. "Jacob, you need to breathe and let the pain travel through your body. It's one snap, just let the power flow with it. Once your first turn is done, it's not painful. It's like a fluid motion that your body just knows what to do." She whispered, leaning in towards him as he gasped, trying to control his pain.

"I can't. It hurts too much." He told her, whispering while holding in the transformation, only for a kick to burst through his body as his hand was next, Jacob screaming while his fingers bent backwards.

The woman winced, taking him in her arms while holding him in, her scent enveloped him to try and relax him. The girl sniffled, a tear falling freely while she shook.

"It's a small snap. Just relax, breathe, grab hold of the pain and hold it because once it's gone, you'll feel immense power. Jacob, trust me." She told him, the woman feeling the boy's chest rapidly move up and down while she then felt his body snap into position. His body flew out of her arms and she was now staring into hazel brown eyes. She could see her reflection in them, the boy somehow taking in her presence with a shake and the girl smiled.

"Y-you did it!" She screamed in joy, the boy looking over his body while she was so happy that the smile never left her face. "Oh, my god. I can't believe you trusted me." She told him, the wolf giving her some sort of grin while she chuckled.

"Now, let's get your powers set up." She told him, walking deeper into the woods, this time not heading to the Reserve for help because she could handle it herself.

Vanessa was holding Jacob to her chest, the boy passed out after his transformation and she knocked on Billy's door, the man rolling up to see the vampire holding him. "What happened?" He asked and she sighed.

"He had his first transformation. Sam didn't have time to help so I was the only one who could. Can you let me in?" She asked, the man shaking his head.

"No, just let Sam take him." He told her, the girl about to argue as Sam walked towards her.

"He's good?" He asked while she sighed, carefully taking him down.

"As good as a newbie will be." She said as the girl watched him take the boys limp body.

"Thank you, Vanessa." He told her, Billy glaring over her while the door was slammed shut. She jumped while she listened in closely, taking a moment to bite her lip as she shook her head.

She stepped inside while she felt a pull of some sort and Billy gasped. "What in hell do you think you're doing?" He asked while the girl sighed.

"I'm sorry, Billy. But I can't just let you shut me out every time I help you. You can hate me all you want but I'm friends with your son, and I care for him. So I'm staying." She told him, walking past him while into Jacob's room.

The area was tiny compared to her own bedroom. The room was messy, covered in clothes and the walls held thousands of posters while the windows were covered in a light grey curtain.

Vanessa smiled, only to hear a slight groan and she turned to face the boy who slowly opened his eyes. He groaned in pain, the girl chuckled while leaning closer to him. "Hey, you're back home." She whispered.

The boys eyes looked into her golden ones, slowly being captured by them and he felt his heart stop beating. Everything was slowed down and his body was feeling like it was being lifting up while she tilted her head.

"You good?" She asked, Jacob snapping out of it while not quite understanding what happened.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm just a little sore." He told her while she chuckled.

"Oh, I know. My body felt as if it was hit by a train when I first transformed." She told him while he raised an eyebrow.

"You're one too?" He asked, the girl sighing while shaking her head.

"Not anymore." She whispered and frowned. "I'm a vampire. A cold one." She told him, the boy frowning with her while he took her head.

"So? You're still the Vanessa I know. You're my friend." He told her while she chuckled.

"Thanks, Jacob." She whispered, the boy smiling, knowing this. He would do anything for her.
