Wolves
Vanessa was out with Sam, the two doing their rounds in the afternoon while Vanessa was just enjoying his company. The woman knew that Sam finally could call the woman his aunt, in a weird way, but none the less she was family. And now that she's been here everyday, the bond grew stronger. Without Edward taking her away and Billy pushing her out, she could be here whenever she wanted, and that was most of the time, making sure everyone was doing their job since she never slept, she could keep an eye on things when Sam needed his rest.
The woman's hair was placed on her head in a messy bun, her body in a crop top and shorts while tennis shoes were placed in her feet. She smiled over at Sam while he nods his head. "So, how's everything with Jacob?" He asked, the woman furrowing her eyebrows.
"He's great. His anger is going away quickly." She told him, shrugging her shoulders. "You know this already. Why are you asking me?" She asked, slightly confused at his question.
"Well, being imprints are hard after a few months." He told her and the girl stopped dead in her tracks while she blinked.
"Im- -" she couldn't even finish the word while she shook her head and laughed. "We are not imprints." She told him and Sam raised an eyebrow.
"Yes you two are. I thought you knew, because that's why Billy hasn't said a word about you going to the meetings." He told her while her face fell.
"Sam, I would have known if Jacob imprinted on me. I would have seen it." She told the man, placing a hand on her chest.
"I mean, I might not be a wolf, but I was one." She told him and the man laughed.
"That doesn't mean you forgot what it feels like." He told her and she frowned, looking to the ground.
He stopped his sentence while he looked over her mood. "You never imprinted." He muttered while she shrugged.
"I was turned before I could." She whispered, shaking her head. "I saw others who have imprinted. Jacob hasn't yet." She told him while Sam frowned.
"Vanessa, he did. You're all he thinks about, trust me, I'm in his head." He told the girl, her body tensing.
"When would he? I would have seen it. He would have fallen, made a weird face, or even- -"
"You were there when he first turned right?" He asked, the woman stopping everything as she let it all click.
When Jacob was in his first transformation, she wouldn't have noticed at all. She took the time to take this all in as she rubbed her face. "Shit." She muttered, Sam furrowing his eyebrows.
"What's wrong with being his imprint? You two get along great if you've never had a problem." He told her, making the vampire chuckle sadly.
"I don't know, I just thought..." she stopped her sentence when she smelt Bella, mixed with an earthy scent. She turned to Sam and frowned. "Bella's in trouble." She told him, the man taking in a deep breath to smell the air. He jumped up, transforming while the two rushed out into a clearing.
Vanessa knew what this place was, it was the lavender field. But with the drought they've been having, the area was dead, dry and crumpled into dust. The girl looked to find Bella as she made it out into the clearing and Laurent smiled kindly. "Ahhh, Vanessa." He greeted the girl, looking to Bella's scared face and she growled lowly.
"Leave her alone." She hissed, Sam creeping up behind her whole Laurent gasped.
"I don't believe it." He breathed out.
Vanessa watched as Sam snarled his teeth at the vampire, planting his paws down into the dirt as he gave him a warning. He stood tall, hovering six feet taller than Vanessa as he puffed out his chest, letting his breath hit the air into steam.
More followed in, the whole pack swarming in behind the two as Vanessa's eyes darkened slightly, Bella noticing as Sam roared at the man. He ran off, leaving the wolves to run after him.
Jacob was left, staring over the vampire who gave him a look. "Go." She whispered, the wolf nodding his head while pouncing off. Vanessa grabbed Bella by the arms, running her away from the fight.
"Get off me! What are those?!" She panicked, Vanessa shaking her head.
"Bella, it's okay, they were- -"
"No, no! Those are the things killing everyone!" She yelled, running away while Vanessa tried stopping her, the woman rolling her eyes.
"Whatever." She muttered, running back to the forest to help the pack. She slid across the ground, seeing Sam take Laurent's arm off, leaving the girl to jump on his back, tearing his head off with the strength she had.
Jacob nods his head over the woman, the pack probably speaking to each other in their minds. The girl looked to Sam and frowned. "I'm involved now. I know this group. There's another one, isn't there?" She asked, the man growling lowly with a nod. "Her name's Victoria." She told them, crossing her arms over her chest. "And she's after Bella." She told them, Sam huffing out a breath and Vanessa looked to Jacob.
"And you and I need to talk." She told him, the wolf whining slightly at her tone as she rubbed her head.
She rushed off, towards the Reserve and setting herself on the grass, laying down while feeling Jacob sit next to her.
