Secrets
Vanessa laid beside Jacob with her hands working over the underside of the bikes, the tools next to her while she was handing one tool at a time and taking the ones Jacob wasn't using to place them neatly back. She was laughing at everything he was whispering to her and she rolled her eyes. When she heard a clear of a throat she sighed. "Yes, Bella?" She asked, siting up while Jacob looked over the bike motor.
"What about Edward? Would he approve of this?" She asked, a slight tone of jealousy laced in her voice while Jacob could feel the tension in the room slowly grow.
"Edward is no longer a concern. Little do you know we broke it off. And Jacob and I are nothing." She told the dark brunette human, flipping her hair to the side of her face while Bella scoffed.
"Please, like that's nothing." She muttered, Vanessa feeling her blood boil.
She kicked her lips and glared dangerously over the human. "Bella, I broke it off with Edward to stay with you, but you cut me off like everyone else in your life. Why did you decide to come to Jacob for the bikes? You hate riding bikes. I remember when I asked you and you said that it was a murdering machine." She told the girl, skeptical of why she even brought these machines.
"Maybe because I like them now." She said, a slight blimp in her heart beat.
"You're lying." Vanessa seethed while Jacob got up and grabbed her shoulder to calm her down.
"Van, calm." He told her softly while she sighed, taking her jacket.
"I'm sorry. I just need to go." She muttered, Jacob looking over her leaving figure and then looked at Bella.
"I'll be right back." He told his friend, the boy chasing after the vampire while he stopped her. "Vanessa, wait up!" He yelled, the girl taking her helmet into her hands while she looked at Jacob.
"Jake, I just need a few minutes. I'm kinda hungry and- -"
"Would you just stay a little longer?" He asked, the woman furrowing her eyebrows.
"Why? Don't you want to spend time with Bella?" She asked while Jacob laughed.
"No, I wanted to spend time with you." He told her, the girl catching a sparkle in his eyes and she felt a tug on her heart. She knew she needed to eat, and she would feel bad if she would leave the boy by himself.
Her stomach did flips while she sighed. "Fine." She muttered as he cheered, wrapping his arm over her shoulders while she laughed, his long hair covering her face. "You're lucky I like you." She told him, the boy chuckling.
