Burzek Goes Undercover

Chapter 2: The Party

Kim is already waiting by the cage when Adam makes it to the 21st. She's scrolling through her phone and doesn't notice him right away. Which gives him time to look her over, he swears she's more beautiful everyday. If all he gets to be is her fake boyfriend, it's good enough for now.

"You ready to go?" Adam asked surprising Kim. She gives him a glance over and nods her head. They get in the Hellcat and head to the party, fancy gun dealers have to roll in style.
"So one more time, you sell fancy guns on the north side to people with deep pockets and you're looking to expand your area", Kim states going over the details one more time. "Right. We gotta get Lynn to trust us to set up a buy. We got this."Adam says. He's confident in their undercover work.

They reach the party and hand the keys to the valet. As they walk in Adam puts his hand on the small of Kim's back, Kim inhales sharply not trying to let Adam notice the effect.
Once inside they had to the bar, it has a nice view of the whole club. They order some drinks to keep their cover and scan the crowd. Now they just wait until Lynn makes his grand entrance.

"How does no one get shot when he does his entrance?" Kim asks.
"I'm guessing he's lucky or it's goes unreported. Your in a room full of people, it's likely someone would get hit", Adam explains.

Kim just shakes her head and goes back to stirring her drink and watching the people around her. She notices a guy staring at her and as he moves, he flashed his gun in his jacket pocket at her and winks.

Kim leans in and whispers to Adam,"I think that guy over there is trying to get my attention." Adam looks up and the guy is still staring at the two of them.
They walk over towards the man. As they get closer he winks again and turns down a hallway behind him. Adam and Kim look at each other before following him.
Adam keeps Kim behind him half a step so he can protect her if necessary. "I got a bad feeling about this." Adam whispers. Kim nods in agreement.

They follow the man back the hallway and lose sight of him, only to have him grab Burgess by the arm and pulls her into a room. Adam turns to grab her but the man already has a gun to her back.

"Woo woo man why you got a gun to my girl",Adam asks nervously.
"She was staring at me to long. A cop stares to long. Are you a cop?!?! He screams. "No! No! My boyfriend and I deal guns on the north side" Kim says trying to calm man.
"Hey hey, look at me, let her go and you and I can talk man to man. We're not cops. Relax. Start with your name" Adam says. "I'm James" the man says as he loses his grip on Kim.
"Alright,James what can I do for you. Cause I'm not liking how you have a hold of my girl". Adams trying to stay calm.
"All I want is the pretty little thing to stop staring at me and your guns. Now." James says.

Kim realizes she read about a James in Lynn's rap sheet. James is his little cousin and has a rap sheet pretty close to Lynn's. She's trying to tell Adam this through facial expressions but it's not that easy. She can feel him shoving the gun harder into her back.
