"You guys could have told me that you wanted to kidnap me all along before I entered this car," I said irritated.
We were driving in the direction of Lawfield's more urban region which was on the complete other side of our actual neighborhood.
Isaac, who was sitting in shotgun, just chuckled at my sulking ass. My hand was still shaking and hurting like a bitch. I even managed to have bloody knuckles because of Kai's iron bones, which could make Tony Stark envious.
"You're not hungry?" I could see Enzo's questioning stare from the rear-view mirror.
"I will be very much, if another person pays," I admit on a second note.
Enzo just shakes his head while Isaac lets out a laugh.
"The others will meet us at Lucy's. Enzo and I actually stayed behind because someone over here was so damn worr- Fuck, dude! What was that for?!"
Isaac hissed in pain as I heaved a brow at them.
Enzo wouldn't meet my gaze in the mirror as he clarified a bit flustered, "We actually stayed behind because we, uh, wanted to wait for you to ask if you'd like to come along since you weren't present as we discussed our plans. That's all."
"Yup. That's all," Isaac mimicked Lorenzo with an amused glint in his eyes. He then proceeded to turn around and send me wink.
Still confused about both boys being extra weird today, Enzo quickly changed the subject by announcing that we arrived at our location.
Thank God, the awkwardness was getting unbearable, my inner voice exhales for me.
We get out of the car and make our way to the small diner, I learned to adore. Lucy's is the one place, in which every generation comes together. Parents come here to eat lunch with their children, just as often older-aged couples visit to spend some quality time with their loved ones. Nonetheless, Lucy's is still most popular among the teenagers in Lawfield.
We enter the diner and a small bell on top of the door manifests our arrival. Nobody cares though since the place is packed, with mostly teenagers and some couples. The three of us make our way to a booth in a corner, in which Austin, Nash and Maliah are already sitting.
Austin is the first to spot us, and looks alarmed when he focuses on me, "What did that Ed Sheeran wannabe do to you?! I brought weapons."
"I already took care of it, you don't have to use your baseball bat," I stressed as I slid in the booth after Isaac and Enzo.
"Oh, honey I wasn't talking about the bat – these are my guns," Austin then proceeded to flex his arms.
Maliah then proceeded to push him out of the booth, "Austin, get your wrinkly spaghetti arms out of my damn face! I'll gladly use that bat of yours to push it up your ass."
"You rapist," Austin grumbled as he sat back down.
"But you guys should have seen how Livia here just completely Chuck Norrised the living hell out of Kai!" Isaac's eyes sparkled as he looked at me in awe, "That was too epic, I swear!"
"Damn you both," Nash exclaimed suddenly as he looked at Enzo and Isaac, "You should have taken a video for fucks sake! I can't believe I always miss the juicy stuff!"
Maliah ignored Nash's whiney self as she asked me with a stern mother bear face, "Did you crash his nuts?"
I just nodded, intimidated by her new military persona.
