The first thing that caused a tornado in my tummy was the overpowering smell of awesome and delicious food, the second I stepped foot into Lucy's.
From the outside it looks like a small and tiny little house that doesn't seem to fit in our Fifth Avenue of Lawfield. Strangely though from the inside the space of the building appears to be infinite large. Booths and tables are located everywhere you look at, which is good because hallelujah the place is packed. The people that are stuffing their faces here are mostly teenagers, who have to be broke after every single visit.
I discovered that this diner was some sort of combination of McDonald's, KFC, In-N-Out, Wendy's and a Waffle House. In the morning they had the best waffles of the whole district and later you could buy all sorts of fast food freshly made out of the oven or possibly the fryer. This place was heaven indeed.
However, it would have never become the place it is now, hadn't Gordon Ramsey on his show Hell's Kitchen got food poising because of their two weeks old served food. Yikes.
However, what nightmare this place had been before will stay in the past forever.
Directly after school we met up at the entrance to drive to the diner. Sadly Mae invited herself and continued to cling onto Austin. To my dismay Kai accompanied us, as well but he took his own car. Maliah quickly vanished with Isaac in his car without looking back and Nash drove with Enzo.
Right now we were all squished in a booth and talked and laughed and did other fun things. That is really the only word I could describe the time with the close group of friends. I know I only met all of them two days ago but that is enough to appreciate their efforts to include me in their group without an input. Although they all know that I am more the reserved and quiet type, nobody pushes me to do anything out of my comfort zone.
I already found out a lot about every single one of them. Nash for example likes to dip his fries in coke instead of the typical milkshake, which all of them including me find disgusting to say the least. Even Maliah is hilarious and open when she wants to be. The unusual sight of her separated from the iPhone, she seems tad bit addicted to, shook me the most. A silent agreement, I was informed they had, is that whenever the squad is hanging out here in Lucy's, the phones are all instantly muted or turned off all together the minute everyone is seated. That's probably why everyone kept playfully harassing Maliah about her withdrawal symptoms after only ten minutes.
"I hate you guys," Maliah's frustration didn't stop anyone from laughing at her distressed and annoyed face.
"Come on, Maliah. You love us," Austin couldn't hide his amused look, "Just like your pretty little phone. What was her name again?"
Maliah narrowed her eyes at him and threw him a glare with the power to evaporate any stupid idiots in her radar, "Austin motherfucker Mitchell, I dare you. I dare you to take her name in your filthy stupid mouth."
Before he had the chance to reply, Nash beat him to it, "Wasn't it something like Princess beautiful Honey Bunny Lucky Charm?" We all looked at Nash who had on a concentrated scrunched up face and erupted in complete laughter. I couldn't even hide my chuckles at that cute answer.
His obliviousness just earned him a slap on the back of his head from Maliah who looked confused and frustrated to say the least.
"I'm disappointed but not surprised, Nash."
He laughed at her reaction and reassured her that it was just a joke.
The group than targeted Sofía's and Kai's friendship plus.
