"Miranda's birthday party is going to be Halloween themed! I have so many costume ideas for every single one of you guys!" Sofía squealed in excitement.
However, nobody seemed to share the same enthusiasm as her. Instead of happy dances a chorus of groans erupted around the lunch table.
"That theme is lame as fuck," Maliah scoffed, scrolling through her TL. The rest of us agreed with her.
I was currently sitting in between Maliah and Austin on this extremely dull October Thursday, receiving glares from a highly upset Mae from a few tables next to us. I had apparently stolen her chair next to her newest prey Austin, although he was the one who decided to sit next to me. And not the other way around.
I wasn't really paying attention to the group's lack of excitement towards the upcoming high school party, Sof was rhapsodizing over. Meanwhile, my mind was still too preoccupied about the first conversation Enzo and I had yesterday night.
I sneaked a glance at him and found him cringing over something Sofía probably had said. Suddenly, he looks up in my direction and I widen my eyes a fraction, embarrassed about having been caught in my creepy staring situation.
A ghost of a smirk appears on his lips and I look away quickly. I close my eyes for a brief second, caught up in an internal battle about slapping myself silly in public or not.
I am rudely shoved out of my thoughts by a shriek that shakes the whole cafeteria. A few glares are directed at us and clearly annoyed grumbles of teenagers could be heard. Sofía didn't give a flying fuck as she opened her mouth for the thousand time today.
"Oh my God! I have the best fucking idea that will slay the whole party!" The mad woman herself gasps out loud, her gaze not only scaring me as I clearly hear Austin gulp next to me.
Unfortunately, her eyes focus in on me, sitting right across from her. She is smiling at me so intense that I'm scared for her cheek muscles, she could potentially pull during that workout session.
I just send her a weirded out look, not quite understanding what's up with her this time. Even Kai, who is normally too engrossed in his phone or their usual nauseating PDA, seems to be completely lost.
"You look like you have diarrhea."
Sof ignores Nash's blunt remark and stands up, throwing Kai's hand off her shoulder. In the blink of an eye, she's standing behind my chair, still with the same creepy pedophile smile.
Damn, gurl. I'm surprised that her cheeks still don't cramp.
I turn around in my seat, unsure of what to do, when she abruptly kneels down as if she was-
Oh, no.
My eyes widen, and I stop her movements by grabbing her shoulders firmly, "Fuck, no. Sofía, go back to your man right now! Put a ring on him for all I care but not on me! Your-"I shivered too disgusted, "-step sister!"
I look in her confused eyes as the table erupts into laughter in the background. All of a sudden, her eyes widen before she lets out a hysterical laugh herself. She actually has to hold on me because she literally looks like she suffocates because of her own laughter.
"That's definitely not what I wanted to ask!" Sofía said in-between her laughs.
"Livia, your face was so fucking priceless!" Isaac comments on my small outburst, slightly calming down from the gang's daily laugh-at-Livia session.
I just let out a sigh of relief. For a second I really asked myself if I landed in one of those books in which the protagonist falls in love with every single one of her step siblings. Extremely nasty, I know.
