{Owl Sanctuary}

The stairs to the Owl Sanctuary were slippy as it was getting colder outside and winter was fast approaching. You were heading up to the Sanctuary to send a letter to your parents to ask if they could send over your best outfit. Dumbledore had announced the night before that the Triwizard Tournaments were happening at Hogwarts and as a result, the school would be hosting a Yule Ball.

As you got to the top of the stairs, you were met by Cho, a Ravenclaw in your year. She was a nice girl that you really got on with there had always been a part of you that had wanted to get to know her as more as a friend but had never taken the chance in the fear that you would make an idiot of yourself. Now, with the Yule Ball on the horizon, it was the perfect time to ask her. 

"Hi, Cho." You smiled. "How are you?"

"Hi, (Y/n). I'm good. How are you?" She replied.

"I'm great." You said, fiddling with the letter that was between your fingers. "It's exciting about the Yule Ball, right?" 

"Very." She smiled, excitedly. "I've just sent my letter asking my parents to send me a dress to wear."

"I'm about to send a similar letter." You stated, waving the envelope in the air. You began walking over to your owl before turning around to Cho. "I'm about to say something really crazy." You admitted. "But, I was wondering you wanted to go with me?" You looked at Cho. "To the ball." You added, in case she didn't understand what you meant. There was a moment of silence, causing you to panic. "You don't have. It's no big-"

"I'd love too." She smiled. "I really would." 

"Great." You replied, feeling a surge of excitement shooting through your body. "I'll see you soon then!" Cho agreed before bidding you goodbye and heading down the stairs, leaving you to smile in victory.
