In this imagine (Y/n) is in Gryffindor House
_______
"Harry, I'm not asking you to approve," You said to him as you bit into your toast. You were sitting with Harry, Ron and Hermione at the Gryffindor table in the great hall. "I'm simply asking you to be happy for me." Harry shook his head in disbelief and Hermione kicked him under the table, causing him to mutter "ouch." Hermione, who was sitting next to you, had closed the book that was in front of her to look at you. "If anything, I think this is exciting." She admitted, smiling at you. Her smile comforted you; it was nice to know that someone was on your side.
"Exciting?" Harry repeated. "Good God, what has happened to the pair of you? Since those boys from Drumstrang were here, you two have been obsessed with boys and with love. It's ridiculous. The whole thing is ridiculous. Ron, back me up here." Ron, of course, was too busy eating to hear anything that was going on. "Sorry, what are we talking about? What am I backing you up on?"
"This whole Draco situation," Harry stated, pointing at you.
"What Draco situation? No one's told me anything about it." Ron stated, causing Harry to sigh before hitting his arm. "Hey!" Ron said, rubbing his arm.
"We were talking about this last night." Harry reminded him. "Remember, (Y/n) is dating Draco." You copied Hermione in kicking Harry under the table. "Will you both stop doing that?" He said, reaching down to rub his shin. "Shut up, Harry!" You begged him. "I don't want the whole school knowing."
"Neither would I," Ron admitted leaning over the table. "You and Draco? The enemy? It's bloody disgusting if you ask me."
"Well, she's not asking you," Hermione said, angrily, seeing how upset Ron's comment had made you. "Why can't you two see that this is a positive thing? It's about building bridges. You two are so blinded by your hatred for Draco that you can't see how happy (Y/n) is, even though she's right in front of you."
"Hermione, this is Draco we're talking about," Harry said, but you couldn't bring yourself to hear anymore. You stood up abruptly and excused yourself. "See you in Potions Hermione." You muttered, holding back tears as you walked away from the table. "Now look at what you've done." You heard Hermione say to Ron and Harry as you left. You ran out of the great hall and up the steps. Of course, you understood where Harry and Ron were coming from, given their history with Draco but you'd never had an issue with him. You had always seen the side to him that no-one else had seen, maybe it's because you were willing to look past his cold and dark exterior and found someone who only wanted one thing; to be loved. You and Draco had more in common than you realised. You were so wrapped up in your own head that you didn't see someone reaching out to grab you, pulling you into the prefect's bathroom. "What-" You began, before seeing Draco standing in front of you. You instantly smiled. "You know how much trouble we'll be in if we get caught in here?" You asked him as he ran his fingers through your hair. "Neither of us is prefect, and God forbid a Gryffindor is caught with Slytherin," You joked.
"It's worth getting in trouble for if it means I get you on your own." He smirked, but it quickly disappeared when he noticed her glazed-over eyes and the fact that she was trying to suppress tears. "Hey, what is it? What happened?"
"It's nothing." You replied, shaking your head. "Just Harry and Ron." You watched as Draco sighed.
"Do you want me to say something?" He offered, even though he knew that it wouldn't be the best idea. "I would do it for you, you know that right?"
"I know, but it's okay." You reassured him, placing your hand on his cheek. "I can deal with them. They just don't think before they speak and I would rather not punch anyone today." Draco chuckled as he kissed you. "I'll see you in potions." He smiled before you kissed him again and left the prefect's bathroom, walking away quickly giving Draco a chance to leave without anyone seeing you together. "Mr Malfoy." You heard Professor McGonagall say. "What were you doing in the prefect's bathroom?"
"Umm, I was bursting professor." He stated, trying to contain his laughter. "If I didn't go in there, god knows how embarrassing that would have been."
"And where should you be now?" McGonagall interrogated him and it took everything you had in you not to turn around and watch the events between Draco and McGonagall unfold. "Potions." He replied, showing McGonagall his potions textbook.
"Well, you'd better get moving then Mr Malfoy" She stated, "But if I catch you in there again, it'll be ten points from Slytherin, do you understand me?"
"Yes Professor, sorry." He replied before he began following you down the hallway. By this point, Hermione had caught up with you. "Are you okay?" She asked, worried. "For what it's worth, I told them both to change their attitudes-"
"Hermione-" You interrupted. "It's okay, honestly." You stood waiting outside your potions lesson when you made eye contact with Draco. He smirked at you, causing you to smile back. You felt Hermione staring at you. "What?" You asked, pushing her arm gently.
"You look so much happier." She stated before everyone began going in. You stood at your table and felt someone put their bag next to you. You looked up to see Harry smiling at you. You gave a small smile back before opening up your potions book. "Listen, I'm sorry." He apologised. "I didn't mean to upset you before. I'm sure you understand why this is strange for me," You remained silent as you listened to Harry. You knew that Draco was watching everything that was going on. "What I'm trying to say is, I want you to be happy, (Y/n)." He smiled and you couldn't help but hug him. "If he is the one that makes you happy then I'll support you."
"Thank you! Thank you!" You laughed, a feeling of relief rushed over you. You kissed Harry on the cheek. "Thank you! You have no idea how much it means to me! Hey, does this mean that you'll finally ask Ginny out?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He stated, adjusting the glasses on his face. You laughed before you hit him across the back of his head. "I wish everyone would stop hitting me." He stated, making you laugh more. "Maybe you deserve it."
"Ouch." He laughed. "Seriously though, you seem a lot happier since you started dating him. Maybe he's not as bad as I think." It meant a lot to you that Harry was saying this and your heart fluttered when you thought about Draco and how lucky you were that Draco had chosen you. "I'm sure I can bring Ron around as well, so don't worry about him." You and Harry, now finally on better terms than you were this morning, spent the rest of the lesson laughing and joking, much to the dismay of Professor Snape. At the end of the lesson, you noticed that Draco was held up behind everyone else. "I'll catch up with you guys." You told Hermione as she and Harry left the room. You looked in the cupboard until everyone was gone and at that point felt Draco's hands wrapping around your waist. "Hey, you." You smiled as you turned to face him.
"Hey." You could tell that something was bothering him. It was written across his face; he was a bad liar in that respect.
"Talk to me." You said as you wrapped your arms around his neck. "What's going on?" A fear of dread came over you, unsure of what he was about to say. As you waited for him to reply, you stroked the back of his head with your thumbs. His aroma surrounded you and it was completely and utterly intoxicating. "It's stupid." He replied, shaking his head, causing a blonde strand to fall in front of his piercing blue eyes. You moved the strand away and tucked it behind his ear. You smiled gently. "It's just, seeing the way you were with Potter, I guess I'm jealous." God, if anyone should have been jealous, it should be you. The number of girls in this school that had their eyes on Draco was enormous. "Jealous of Harry?" He waited a few seconds before he nodded. "Listen to me, you don't need to be jealous of Harry. I chose you, Draco."
"I want us to act that way, you know laughing and being happy, in front of everyone without worrying what they think." He admitted.
"And we can, when you're ready." He kissed you.
"I am ready." He admitted, holding your hand tightly in yours. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I want everyone to know it." Together, you walked hand in hand down the corridor. Draco's smile illuminated his face as everyone turned their heads and gawped at you as you walked past; but with Draco, you were in your own little bubble.
