I woke up and lazily put on leggings and a black sweatshirt. I sighed as I left for school that day. It was all around quiet before I got to school.
I walked over to Carter and the CAWS.
They looked at me and their eyes widened.
"What happened to you? It looks like you got ran over by a bus!" Sawyer said. Abigail elbowed him in the ribs and Sawyer flinched.
"Well you try finding out that the guy you liked cheated on you and you didn't even know it."
Their faces morphed to sorrow as they saw my state. Their eyes soon widened and I turned to see Ryan coming this way.
"I can't be here." I said. I walked into the school and went to my locker. I grabbed my stuff just in time to go to class and avoid Ryan who was coming toward me.
I sat in class silently and dreaded the moment where he would sit in front of me and ask me why I was ignoring him.
He eventually sat down and he turned to me.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" He asked.
"I don't know, why don't you go hang around your little cheerleader. Maybe she won't avoid you."
"What are you talking about?" He asks.
"I don't know Ryan. What am I talking about?" I questioned rhetorically as I looked up at him, slamming my pencil down.
"I don't know but whatever you heard it isn't true."
"Why would my best friends lie to me?"
"I don't know but I didn't cheat on you if that's what your assuming."
"Oh whatever! They wouldn't lie to me about that!"
"Why wouldn't they? They don't seem to like me! Maybe they are trying to get you to not like me so you don't have to hang around me anymore."
He had a valid point.
I looked at them and they didn't look at me. I knew they heard and I knew they knew they were caught.
I can't believe them! They lied to me!
I scoffed and crossed my arms.
I was furious.
After the bell rang I went to my locker and ignored anyone that tried to talk to me.
The day had passed by and everyone had begged me to talk to them but I didn't.
I am not planning on talking to them for a long time.
I was at home on my bed when it started to vibrate.
My phone rang and Carter was on the other end.
"What do you want?" I ask.
"I'm sorry we lied to you." She said softly.
"Are you? Are you really? Cause you all seemed to do it just fine. If you really wanted me to not date him you could have just told me instead of hurting me. Do you really just want to be that selfish?" I spat.
"Selfish? What do you mean selfish? I'm trying to save your ass."
"By hurting my feelings and lying to me? That's trying to save me? Well I'm sorry honey but your doing the opposite. I don't want to be your friend if you're going to so call 'save' me by making me feel like shit." I hung up and threw my pillow across the room in anger. The cat jumped and I apologized to her even though she couldn't understand me.
I huffed and called Ryan.
I cried to him and he reassured me that he was always there for me.
"I just don't understand why they'd do that. It makes no sense."
"I know, beautiful. It sucks that they'd do that. And you're totally right for not wanting to talk to them. They are going overboard and being disrespectful."
"Thank you for agreeing with me."
"Of course."
It was quiet until he spoke up.
"Hey Kaida?"
"Yeah?"
"Would it be weird to say I love you?"
My heart fluttered and my body tingled. That seemed to happen a lot when he took it to the next step with me.
"No. Because I love you too."
I could feel him smile over the phone.
"Good. Well you should get some sleep, beautiful."
"Okay. Goodnight."
"Goodnight. I love you."
"Love you too."
I went to sleep happy that night. I knew that part of my heart was whole again. But I also knew that another part of my heart had turned on me. I just couldn't understand why.
I felt like they are keeping something from me. But what?
