I had been irked with a missing piece of a puzzle. Something was off that I was missing out on.
I went to school and tried to study them all day.
Everything was normal. I couldn't tell what was happening. I finally got over everyone not telling me anything.
"What is going on?" I asked at the lunch table.
"What do you mean?" Winnie asked.
"You guys aren't telling me something and it's pissing me off."
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't act stupid! And you know it's happening too and you know I'm onto you guys! So what is it? Fess up or I'm gonna ask Ryan because I know he knows something."
Their eyes widened with concern and mine widened with anger and waiting.
"Okay. We will tell you" Carter said to me while looking over at Ryan who was listening in "but not here. After school."
I noticed the eye fight that Carter and Ryan were having which made me wonder even more.
School seemed like a living hell now that it was making me wait all day for so many things.
After school I met up with the group and we started walking before my wrist was grasped. I flinched and turned to see Ryan.
"Hey." I spoke happily.
"Where are you going?" He asked curiously.
"I'm... gonna go study with the group." I lied.
"Ah Okay." He let my wrist go and he kissed my forehead before leaving.
"That was close." I sighed and they pushed me in front of them, I'm assuming so they could keep an eye on me.
Why were they being my body guards? Is there something I did? Did someone want me?
We walked into the woods and we all sat down.
"What's going on?" I asked finally.
"Okay. What you're about to hear may sound crazy. And you aren't gonna believe us but trust us. It's true. We wouldn't purposely lie." Winnie spoke
"Just tell me."
Carter looked at everyone and explained it all.
"Ryan is a vampire. He is here to take you and make you his eternally."
"Or kill you." Sawyer chimed, interrupting Carter. Carter glared at him and continued to talk.
"We don't know why it's you exactly yet, but we are getting there. It's also important to know that the CAWS -minus Winnie- and Harvey are werewolves. I found out about werewolves on the second day Harvey and I started dating, and Winnie found out about them when Cameron accidentally freaked out over her sneaking up on him."
I was in shock.
"You don't have to say anything but just believe us."
I looked at them.
"You know what? You're right. I don't believe you. And I can't believe that you'd make up some elaborate scheme to pin my boyfriend as some evil monster just so I'd be scared." I yelled. I couldn't believe that they'd make up a fairytale to ruin me.
I shot up from my spot and walked home.
I slammed the from door closed and stomped to my room.
I called Ryan and ranted to him.
"I just can't believe that they'd even THINK of pinning that on you just so you could lose me! It's like WHAT DO THEY WANT??!" I huffed.
"I know. It's hard to believe. It's like they are almost believing it themselves so it's real."
"But it's not! It's not real! They are just so completely selfish!"
"I know sweetheart." He cooed.
"I'm so done with this night! I just want it to go back to normal! I want my friends back and I want to be able to hang out with my boyfriend without having people judge me! I want to be able to sleep well at night and not have to worry about who's gonna hate me next! Is that so damn hard to ask for?" I sighed "I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell."
"It's okay. I know you're mad."
"So you don't hate me?"
"Baby, I could never hate you."
"At least you understand. Sometimes I think you're the only one that wants to understand."
"Go to sleep sweetie. You need rest. In the morning, everything will be better."
"Okay. Goodnight Ryan."
"I love you sweetie. Goodnight."
I hung up and clung to my pillow as if it were Ryan.
I felt complete if I thought he was here. I closed my eyes and dozed off to sleep.
