Chapter 42
I turn on my bed side table and look at the time.
2.37am
My heart is rushing. I need a drink. I grab a hoodie an slip it over my head. take that back, I need a Starbucks. I walk down stairs and grab mums keys off the side table. I sigh and wonder what Tristan meant by 'I'll be home soon'.
The 5 minute car journey feels like hours until I reach the nearest Starbucks. I push the big glass doors open and mentally thank myself for picking the 24 hour Starbucks.
Surprise surprise I'm the only person here as I walk towards the counter and wait to be served.
"How can I help you?"
I look up and my mouth drops open web I realise who it is.
"Lucy?" I ask in disbelief.
To my luck the small blonde girl beams back too.
"Chloe? Ohmygod!!!" She squeals jumping up and down. I'm not sure if it's my brain that's still asleep or this is really happening but I jump up and down too.
"Your back!!" I squeal. I'm so half it was just me and her in here otherwise I would have probably been reviving some very wired looks.
"I got back 3 months ago, but let's talk about the elephant in the room! Your fucking famous!!" She danced grabbing two glasses and making us both hot chocolates then Ealing round and pulling me into a booth. I laughed whilst following her.
"I see you got rid if the red head stage" I laughed pulling my jacket off.
In year 10 Lucy thought it would be a good idea to dye her hair bright red and I obviously volunteered to help. After 2 hours of giggling and drinking too much, I had some very stained hands and Lucy had some very red hair. Let's just say I will never drink much alcohol anymore as it resulted in me climbing through the laundry room window, getting stuck, Tristan having to save me then being sick multiple time through the night. But I don't like to mention that one too much.
"Well it wasn't my best moments to remember" She giggled which made me smile.
"I still can't believe Mr Fallon actually let you keep it" I say remembering his face.
"Yeah will with two weeks of detentions and extra homework he better have let me!" She said making me laugh.
Me an Lucy have a wired sense of humour that only us understand. To be honest most people would just run away if the spent longer then 5 minutes with us.
"So how was uni?" I asked taking a sip form my hot chocolate.
"It was an absolute shit hole" she stated making me burst out laughing.
Lucy has the strongest northern accent in the world and it's the funniest thing ever.
If your wondering how we met, well that's a long story. Basically my mum was on a business trip and we stayed in this fancy hotel that her boss payed for. Cut a long story short her mum worked with my mum, me and Lucy got stuck in a lift together and basically had to talk to each other for about 3 hours and we have been inseparable ever since. We where 14 at the time and then luckily Lucy moved down to Devon for 4 years before she headed off to uni a year early.
"What about you? I turned on my radio and you where the hot topic!" She grinned twisting her nose ring.
I loved her nose ring and I actually went with her when she had it done. I was supposed to have it done too but I was a so called 'pussy' in Lucy's words and backed out 10 minutes before. I really wish I had it done now though
"Yeah well, it's a long story".
