Chapter 21

Suddenly a hand was placed on my shoulder and I screamed out loud...

-------

Instantly I turned around.

Was that a good idea?

No.

"What the hell do you want?" I asked harshly.
"I umm..."
"You scared the shit out of me Tristan" I spat.
"I'm sorry I just... Do you want a lift?" He sighed. He had his hands in his pockets and looked like he couldn't care less.
"No I'm fine here." I stated.
"Chloe, the bus doesn't run after 7" He said awkwardly.

Oh yeah. Well that was a clever thing to do.

"Maybe I might reconsider the whole lift thing?" I said quietly knowing he had already won me over on this one.
"Come on then" he said as he started waking. I walked next to him until we got to the car. There was no sound apart from the rain and occasional car that would drive past oblivious. I listened to the sound of my feet on the hard ground.

That's how I feel at the moment. Like someone is walking all over me. Nothing is going right. I don't think it ever will...

"Ahem" I heard from behind me.
"Oh sorry what?" I said being pulled out of my trance. I turned around and saw Tristan leaning against the car.
"So are you going to get in? Or are you just going to stand there and get soaked?" He said laughing a little.
"Ha ha very funny. Drop the sarcasm will you?" I said bluntly cutting off what he was about to say with the slam of his car door.

The drive home was silent. The only sound was Arctic Monkeys playing in the background. I'm not going to lie, it was awkward. Very awkward.

When we got home I opened the door to a silent house. At least it was until I heard a muffled sound come from the kitchen. I looked at Tristan and he looked back at me. There was only one person that could be crying; and it was mum. We closed the front door and walked towards the kitchen. I knocked gently on the door and opened it. There she was. Sat at the table with her head in her hands crying. It broke my heart and I bet Tristan's did too. We both went and sat next to her calming her down.

Oh was I ever going to talk to my so called 'dad' again.
