Chapter 17

It was Monday now and I had just been woken up by my annoying phone. I groaned and made my way to the bathroom.

Once I showered I decided to leave my hair to dry naturally. Yep, Curly mop head here we come...

I did my normal makeup and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl down stairs. I wasn't hungry in the slightest but i knew if I didn't eat then I would regret it later. While I waited for Kate to come and get me I pulled out my phone and text Connor.

'How are you feeling?? xx'

----

'A bit better thanks, what about you? xxx'

----

'I'm okay. Glad to hear your feeling a bit better xxx'

Just then there was the familiar knock at the door. I walked into the hall and opened the door to be wrapped into a big bear hug with Kate.
"How are you feeling?" She asked quietly.
"Mhhh so - so. Could be better" I replied.

We made our way to school and sat down in our tutor room. Our tutor was a P.E (physical education) teacher. He was really nice and over the 5 years I had known him, I had gained a special trust with him. He is really kind and understanding so if I wanted to, I could ask him anything.

After registration we where let out to our first lesson. I grabbed my bags and headed towards the door when sir pulled me to the side.
"Chloe, are you okay? You don't seem your usual self" he asked me with concern. I just nodded but I didn't really know myself what had happened over the past weekend.
"Are you sure?" He asked again.
"No" I whispered looking down letting a single tear drop onto my converse.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked. I just nodded and he told me to take a seat. "I'll email your English teacher to inform him why you are late, but take as long as you need" he smiled reassuring me.
"If I'm honest I don't know where to start!" I laughed sadly.

I told him everything. And I mean everything. It just rolled off my tongue like it was nothing. I was surprised how easily it just came out. I suppose I was bottling it all up and I needed to get it off of my chest.

Once I had finished I had cried quite a bit and felt empty. It felt good though as it was all jammed up inside.
"It hasn't been the best weekend for you then has it!" He said finding the lighter side of things. I laughed a little as it echoed inside my empty chest.
"Would you like me to get you to see the school councillor?" He asked.
"No!" I said quickly. I didn't need to see the school councillor, did I?
"Okay then, well I think you should do something after school. I know you do music but maybe something like sport?" I laughed out loud knowing I would be awful at it already.
"Sir, I appreciate you trying to help, but sports? Seriously?! I can't even catch a ball!" I laughed.
"When was the last time you tried?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Year 8?" I said feeling guilty.
"Exactly!" He laughed.
"Okay I'll give it a go, but what though?" I questioned.
"I think you will be good at rounders, I run the year 12&13's team after school tonight and Thursdays. Drop in, it will do you good" he smiled.

I laughed mentally at the thought of playing a primary school game with a load of other loners that have shit lives.

"Um okay..." I trailed off not knowing what I had got myself into. I grabbed my bags and headed for the door.
"Thanks again Sir" I said.
"Anytime, I'll email Sir now and tell him that you where late as you where doing a job for me" he said opening his laptop. I smiled as he really was the best tutor.
"Thanks Sir" I said and headed off to English.

Rounders...

I'm not too sure about this...
