One Life For Another

"Yes Jayden?" I say while looking at the stars. "Thank you for being my best friend for the past months" he says, "please be my friend until I die." "I promise you that i will" I look at him with a smile, "I also wanna thank you. If you weren't there that night, I would had no place to stay at." "Everything for you sweetie" Jayden wraps his arms around me and hugs me tight. I smile and hug him back. "I love you" he says. "I love you too" my voice is just a whisper.

We stay at the rooftop for an hour, looking at the stars and talking to each other. "Are you tired" he asks. I nod, while hiding a yawn behind my hand. "Lets go back to our room" Jayden gets up and wants to lift me up immediately. "No no, I can walk by myself." "Okay, tell me when you get tired. I will take care of you!" I smile thankfully, "That's really sweet Jayden, but it isn't needed now. I can walk down the stairs on my own." "Okay. I am proud of you." Jayden laughs, grabs my hand and starts walking. We are out of the building before I can even notice. "Never come here on your own" Jayden warns me, "with me it's safe, but without me it isn't." I nod, not wanting to talk because I am tired. The way back to the dark building looks a little longer than before and my legs start to feel numb. I start to walk slower and slower. "Lilly? Are you tired?" "Yes I am" I look down at my feet. "Hey, it's okay to be tired" Jayden chuckles, "we are almost there" And he is right because we walk into the dark building only 10 minutes later. Our new home, I really need to get used to calling this place home. Jayden takes me to the room and says, "Go take a shower, meanwhile I will talk to my boss again" I tiredly nod and quickly hug him, "Take care." "I will" he says, "you too and make sure to try to sleep after showering okay?" I nod again, turn around and open the door to the bathroom. I hear the door of the room close and than it's completely silent. I lock the bathroom door and look around. The bathroom is quit big and has a bath, shower, sink and toilet in it. I turn the shower on and search for shampoo, douche gel and a towel. I only find a towel and realize that we didn't bring any of the other things with us. I shrug, only using water would be good for now right? I smile at myself in the mirror and take off my clothes. 

I wrap myself into a big fluffy towel after showering and put my hair up into a ponytail. I quickly dress up and walk to my bag on the couch. I open it, what did he put in here? I start to take it all out one by one, placing it on the couch next to me. A sweater, a t-shirt,two pairs of jeans, my toothbrush, deodorant, some make up, toothpaste, a blanket, my headphones, chargers, my iPad, a brush and some elastics. I smile at it, he is such a great person. What would he have packed for himself? Well I might find out later. I put everything back in the bag except for the blanket and put the bag aside the couch. The blanket gets thrown onto the bed and I take a glass of water before laying down. I pull the blankets over myself and then I feel how tired I actually am. My eyes slowly close and I end up deep asleep.

I wake up in the middle of the night from someone unlocking the door. I am scared, what if it's a stranger? I hold my breath and peek at the door from under the blankets. The door opens and I can only see a shadow coming in because of the lights in the hall. "Lilly?" A male voice says as soon as the door is closed and locked again. I stay silent and hide under the blanket completely. "Sweetie? it's me, Jayden. I am going to turn on a little light." I am shaking and peek again. A light goes on and than I see that it really is Jayden who came in. I pull the blanket of myself and look at him. "Did I scare you?" he asks while he walks to the fridge. "A little" I say with a sleepy voice. Is it even my voice? it sounds so weird and different. "I am sorry" He starts to unpack one of the bags he brought in with him, "I didn't ment to scare you." "Okay" I sit up and look at him. He looks back at me and says, "Is the bed soft enough?" "Yes it really is" I smile, "thanks for bring another blanket tho." "No problem." He puts the last things away and walks over to me. I look at him again, "Is there something wrong?" "No. I just made sure we had food and I wanted to tell you that I will go do now." "Okay" I smile at him, "sounds weird." "You crazy girl. You think to much", he laughs, "I wanted to say that I was going to shower, brush my teeth and change. After that I will join you in the bed okay?" "Sure." "I locked the door so no one can come in. I will turn of the lights for you so you can sleep already when i am in the bathroom." "Thanks Jayden." Jayden smiles and turns of the light before going into the bathroom. I hear him turn on the shower and I turn onto my side. But the sleep won't come. 

Jayden slides underneath the blankets half an hour later, but I am still awake. I keep turning and turning. "Can't you sleep?" Jayden whispers. "No" I whisper back while turning around to face him. "Is something scaring you?" "No, I just need to get used to all the new things." "Awh, you will be familiar with everything soon." "Yeah probably." "We will have to stay in this building a lot, because being outside is dangerous." "Why? It's only my sister right?" "Yes it is your sister, but your sister is in a gang" "A gang? Really?" "Yes a gang" Jayden starts to play with my hair. "Wow" I say while looking at him, "and the people here?" "We are a rival gang of your sister's gang" "We are with the enemy?" "Mira's enemy yes, my enemy no. This is my job Lilly." "So the past months you have been a gangster without me knowing?" "Yeah kind of." I sigh, i find it a bit scary but at the same time I feel really safe here. He lets go of my hair and lays one hand on my cheek. "Don't be scared okay?" "Scared for what?" Jayden moves a little closer and softly kisses my lips. I am shocked, but suprised. All kind of feelings go through my body before I kiss back. I lay one hand on his side and let him kiss me. He pulls away after a short time. I smile, thinking about his soft lips. It was such a sweet kiss that made me feel loved. A wave of happiness goes through my body. "I love you" He says while pulling me closer. "I love you too" I say while staring into his eyes. "I hope you know that this isn't ment in a best friend way" his eyes won't leave mine. "I know" my voice sounds like it's not mine again. "You are the girl I need in my life, can you please be mine?" My eyes fill with tears of joy, "Yes!" The tears start to roll down my cheeks, but he immediately wipes them away with his thumbs. I keep staring at him until my eyes slowly close. I hear him whisper, "Sleep well baby girl." I am already halfly sleeping so I can't manage to say something back. I feel his soft lips on mine and than I fall asleep.

The next morning I wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs. Jayden is not laying next to me anymore. I turn around again and look around. Jayden is leaning against the kitchen counter, looking at me. My eyes locks with his and he immediately smiles. "Good morning sleeping beauty" he says, "did you sleep well?" I blush at his words, "I did and you?" "I slept well too. But I had to stop you from constantly turning around." "How did you stop me?" "I hugged you tight and wrapped one leg around you. Then you stopped turning." I blush in embarrassment. "Are you embarrassed?" "A little" Jayden chuckles and walks to the bed. I look up at him and smile. Jayden sits down next to me and pulls me into his arms. "Thanks for being mine" he whispers. I smile, "I love to be yours." I feel my cheeks heating up and I quickly hide my head in his sweater. "Awh, you are so cute when you blush." He softly pushes me a bit back and grabs my chin. "Today we will stay inside. We can go outside for two hours tonight okay?" "Why baby?" "Because it's safer. Mira's gang is famous for taking action in the daylight. Our gang takes action during the night and late afternoon" I nod, "have you ever been hurt by one of Mira's gang?" "A few times but never dangerously" I sigh in relief, but I am worried that maybe we would be hurten soon. "Her gang is called Day monsters. It is a really famous gang that every person has a fear of. But only the gang I am in, is not afraid for them." "Does your gang has a name?" "Yes baby, they call us Angels of the night. It was ment sarcastically but we took it serious and called ourselfs that" "It sounds cool and even a little cute." "We are far for cute Lilly. Most of the people here have killed persons. All of them can handle guns." "You too?"my voice shakes. "Yes me too. And I will learn you how to handle a gun soon" A shiver rolls down my spine, do I really have to learn how to use a gun? "Are you sure about that? Do you think that I can handle one?" "Of course you can baby girl. You will learn it from the gun master." I chuckle, "Okay mister perfect." Jayden smiles and softly places a kiss onto my forehead. A smile grows on my face as soon as I feel his soft lips. "I will give you all my love" Jayden's voice isn't nothing more than a whisper. I stare at him, while trying to think of something to say back to him. "I know that you will too" he says with a big smile on his face.

"Hey don't you dare to do that again!" Jayden almost screams. "Owh you can't stand being tickled?" I laugh at him. He tries to get away from me, but the room isn't big so I can easily get him again. I start panting after a while and let myself fall onto the bed. Jayden runs over to me and jumps onto the bed. "Hey pretty" I say as soon as he is facing me. "Hey princess. Why are you so pretty too?" I blush, "maybe because you make me feel like I am pretty?" Jayden laughs, "it just can't be explained." I giggle and lay my hand on his cheek. He smiles at me, lays his hand on my cheek too and comes closer with his face. "May I?" His voice sounds cute. I nod and slowly pull my hand back. He softly kisses my lips, while moving his hand from my cheek to my neck. Then suddenly I can feel his tongue sliding over my lip, I don't know what I am supposed to do and instantly freeze. Jayden pulls back and looks at me. "You are supposed to open your mouth baby, but only if you want to."  I slowly nod, but I am a little nervous about this....
