"So, you're telling me that you agreed to meet a random Hufflepuff in the library tonight?" Angelina asked me. We were seated in the dining hall, piling food onto our plated. The sound of laughter, chatter, and silver wear scraping glass bowls and plated filled the room. Katie and I both sat on the opposing side of the table, devouring our breakfast before our time vanished.
"Yup." I responded, taking a sip of the steaming coffee in my hands. After my lack of sleep from last night, I desperately needed caffeine in order to maintain consciousness.
"And you think this is a good idea?" Katie questioned, spreading butter on her toast.
"Why not?" I chuckled. Their eyes widened in shock. Their gaze pierced through my body like sharpened blades.
"Why not? Maybe because you don't even know who he is, let alone what his intentions are!" Katie yelled, gathering attention from the students seated near us at the table.
My eyes rolled to the back of my head. "It's not like he's going to kill me."
"You don't know that..." Katie trailed off. Katie fidgeted with her wand in her lap, bouncing her right leg up and down rapidly. Over the years, I've seemed to realize that her nervous ticks have never changed.
"Katie, relax." Angelina said. "It's just a boy. Plus, he's a bloody Hufflepuff! You'd have to be mad to accuse them of anything."
"Angie has a point." Lee said through the cereal occupying his mouth, pointing his milk covered spoon at Katie.
"Well, I'm not comfortable with you going." Katie pouted, crossing her arms.
"So, what do you expect me to do? I'm not just going to stand him up." I said.
"Maybe Katie could sit near you guys; make sure nothing happens." Lee suggested.
"That's just creepy." Angelina scoffed.
"I'll be fine guys." I reassured them, taking another sip of coffee. "I doubt a Hufflepuff could do too much harm."
"A Hufflepuff, huh?"
I wiped my head around to see the twins, smiling just as always, only Fred seemed to be bothered by that statement. Odd, but I shook it off. They both looked rather optimistic, considering the time. Fred's hair was wildly untamed, sticking up in every direction. His tie was knotted, robes wrinkles, and bags occupied his lower lid. George on the other hand was well dressed and seemed a lot more confident judging by his appearance.
"It's nothing like that." I said as George sat on the bench to my left, Fred on my right.
"You're blushing, Y/N. I doubt it's nothing like that." My cheeks were warm, now that I thought about it. The statement caused them to turn an even deeper maroon.
"They're meeting in the library tonight." Katie said. George arched his eyebrow.
"So, a date?" He teased. I slapped his forearm.
"No, not a date. We're just getting to know each other." I rolled my eyes.
"That's not what it sounds like." Lee said.
"Even if it was a date, I don't appreciate your teasing." I stated. "So, please shut your holes or at least stuff them with bread."
"Rude..." Lee muttered, adding another serving of bacon to his plate.
After another few minutes of silence between all of us, students started to file out of the giant doors and to their classes. Each of us followed. Though they were in deep conversation, I was not apart of it. My mind was elsewhere.
