Isaiah's POV

So, here is how this is gonna go. I will just enter the school like I usually do. No ones noticed me before and I don't plan on alerting anybody that I still exist. So, keep my head down, good up, glasses on, and utter silence. (I almost got away with the mustache, but that woman I call 'mother' has the eyes of a hawk) Okay. Here goes nothin'.

I enter the school and everyone is going about their usual day. I hear murmurs about some kid who lost his marbles in the hallway, but it doesn't look like anyone has connected that kid to me yet. Good. The real test is from my mate and his friends. And here they go, coming towards me....and walking right past me. Thank god. I always knew about teenage were's terrible senses, but for some odd reason, my anxiety skyrocketed anyways. Glad that's- why did Mark stop? It's not Friday yet! I hide my head in my locker. He runs right past me. I better get out of here before my luck runs out. I get my things, close my locker and- oof!

Bump straight into my cousin. Attached at the hips since I was little. Should've figured he would've sniffed me from a crowd. I apologize and make a move to go around him, but nope! He needs to talk to me of all people. Doesn't he have enough popularity to hang with...anybody?!!!!

"Slow down! Where's the fire?", he asks after grabbing my arm, keeping me from making my getaway.

"I am trying to avoid them!", I say as I gesture to said group of culprits, Mark not included.

"Didn't you and your wolf deliberate that you would assert your position as 'top dog' of our school?", Carter mocks good-naturedly. Or at least from everyone's perspective it's good-natures. For me, it's annoying. Even with his good point or not!

"I was thinking I'd do that when I actually have the balls to do so. And the muscles. And charisma", I list, not quite finished, but am interrupted so that we aren't there all day.

"We both know that if They don't take you now, you won't be accepted when you actually are gonna officially become Alpha. And no offense, but you wouldn't last in a challenge against them. Had your alpha voice not rang out, you'd have been at the pack doctor", he points out oh so annoyingly. 'He isn't entirely wrong. You couldn't last, but me, I'd improve our chances' my wolf boasts. Now I laugh to myself at that because that is far from the truth.

"Hey Carter!", rings a smooth, deep voice traveling across the hall from the source above the chattering of students.

"How do you know him?!", I whisper in tone that conveys that I'd have yelled it if I weren't trying to remain unnoticed.

"I met him the day you went ballistic on him and his girlfriend", he says with a satisfied smirk. Screw him! He's doing this on purpose! "You got to get acquainted somehow, don't you?"

"Thanks again man for the advice. I've been trying to find new ways to work some more muscle. Could always use a refreshing new regime to spice things up. Doing the same routine gets kind of dull and I may do a lot more once footballs over", Mark says as he runs up. "Who's this guy?"

"This is my cousin, you met him yesterday in the hall, remember?", he says. I'm gonna kill him.

"Oh...hi...", Mark says with a uncomfortable look on his face. Well, what a way for first impression. "Um, so....what was that yesterday?" That's a fair question, one I wasn't prepared for because my plan was to avoid him and his friends completely. Now what am I gonna do?

"Uh-well-I-um", I stammer for any answer that doesn't paint me as someone whose lost it. Though it might be fair to say that I have at this point because I can't think straight and everything is starting to spin. 'Ugh, I gotta do everything, don't I', spoke my wolf before he takes the controls from me. At this point, I will allow him because I've completely checked out.

"Honestly, I'm goin' through stuff. Unfortunately, you and your little girlfriend were caught in the disaster. It happens to everyone though, so eh", he says. And from deep down in my subconscious, I gotta say, NO!! NO IT DOESN'T HAPPEN TO EVERYONE!!!

"Uh-huh", he says looking no more comfortable than he did before. "Is this gonna be a regular thing? Where you use anybody you see as release for your pent up frustration?, he says with a raised eyebrow. Oh boy, my wolf better use his head and say no.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna chew you girl to pieces. You on the other hand, misbehave and see what happens", he responds. Oh no.

"What?!", he exclaims suddenly. He doesn't seem to process the words that just exited my mouth just yet and I'd blame my cousin for not ringing me in, but from the looks of him, he is just as shocked as Mark is.

"Close your bud. You're gonna start drooling", my wolf smugly says, lightly pushing Marks mouth closed with a single finger. From the look on Marks face, he can't believe this is happening right now. Neither can I, and boy do I wish I can make it stop. The damn mutt caught me when I was weak and now have to start regaining my will and shut his mouth before I end up in a ditch or scare my mate off.

I clench my head, fighting for control over my faculties and mind. After I am finished, I look to see that I'm crouching and both boys are looking at me with confusion and concern. "Isaiah, was that your wolf?", Carter asks, causing Mark to look at him questioningly, and then immediately after with understanding.

"Oh, your wolf did that, huh? That explains the aggressive attitude and lack of filter, but why would your wolf go ballistic between me and my girl?", Mark asks. Oh boy, he's getting closer and obviously isn't stupid. If he continues, he will connect the dots and it will be too late.

Quick, think of something! "He is very sensitive about non-mates showing affection", I say to him. This surprises Mark to no end seemingly, and I'm already in too deep to back out now. "Don't get me wrong! I'd never dictate what you could and couldn't do, but...let's just say my wolf and I have a special relationship that gives him more freedom with my brain. He's a smart one, and very stubborn, but still is a creature of instinct. I was raised to wait for my mate and I do feel that way still, but my wolf takes it to radical levels".

Mark now looks mildly intrigued as he says, "Huh. I would never have guessed. Your wolf is...intense??". Eh, he tried.

"Thanks. Don't worry, though it's a work in progress, I can guarantee you that he will be under lock and key for as long as I can keep him there. 'You're gonna let your guard down eventually, bub. And it ain't good to keep me in here for so long If last time didn't teach us both a lesson already'. Yeah, yeah. We already established that we will go on nightly runs okay. You will get to run around and I will just sit back and enjoy the scenery. Keeping us relaxed and stopping us from doing anything stupid.

It is right then that bell rings. Sheesh, took it long enough. We go our separate ways and move on with our daily lives. Little did I know, though, that while I was walking to my first period, the object of my affection looks back to me curiously.
