(So there's a bit of drama in this chapter if you haven't already guessed by the chapter title.)
Alfred and I have been married for almost a year now. Everything has been going perfect. We decided to wait on children so we could have a little more fun.
Alfred went out with his friends Gilbert and Mathais for drinks last night and didn't come home. I'm not worried, though. He has gone out plenty of tines and ended up staying at a hotel.
It's around 3 PM and I'm watching reruns of True Blood. My phone buzzes, indicating a text. I pick it up and see it's from Alfred. I unlock my phone and read the message:
'Hey babe. Srry I didn't come home last night. Can u meet me at the Starbucks on 7th?'
I reply with:
'Sure.'
I get up and head upstairs to change into a more suitable outfit. I grab my keys, slip into my shoes, and head outside, deciding to walk to Starbucks.
Once I arrive Alfred is already there. He looks up, waving at me. I wave back and walk over to his table, sitting across from him.
"Hey..Got you a lattè." Alfred says, sliding the hot cup towards me. His voice sounds nervous, and maybe even sad or scared.
"Thank you." I take a sip of the sweet drink. "So why did you want me to come here?" I ask.
"Well...There's something I need to tell you." Alfred's eyes only stay locked with mine for small periods of time before looking back down on his hands.
"Well, what is it?" I ask, getting a little worried.
"I um..." Alfred pauses before looking up at me. He looks as if he's about to cry. "Natalia, I'm so sorry. I just...Was drunk and-
"Alfred, what are you talking about?"
"Natalia, I-
"There you are, Alfie~ I missed you. You left me this morning. Why- Who is that?" I hear a snotty valley girl voice ask. I look up to see a girl, probably eighteen, with a horrible spray tan, split ends, smeared makeup, and the shortest, skankiest dress ever.
"I was going to ask the same thing." I say, the grip on my lattè tightening. I hear Alfred mutter a curse. "Alfred...Who is she?" I turn to Alfred. His blue eyes are now noticeably brimming with tears.
"I'm sorry." Alfred whispers.
"Alfred..You didn't...Please don't tell me you did."
"I'm sorry. I was drunk..." Alfred trails off.
"You slept with another woman?!" I shout, not caring if other people hear me.
"I didn't mean to, I swear! I was drunk." Alfred says.
"You slept with another woman!!" I scream. "And I thought I could trust you!" My voice is dripping with anger, sadness, heartbreak, and betrayal. "We haven't even been married one year and you're already bored of me?!"
"Natalia, I had too many drinks. Baby, I'm so sorry...I've been trying so hard to avoid her."
"Avoid me? Who doesn't wanna be around all this?" The whore says. "And why would you be sorry? This bitch isn't even giving you your freedom." The whore cops a feel on Alfred's shoulder. He pushes her back.
"This woman is not a bitch. She is my wife. Now would you please leave?" Alfred asks, trying his best to be polite.
"But you were all over me last night~ Just forget her~" The whore says. I can't take anymore. I stand up.
"Alfred, I can't believe you! How could you?" I whisper the last part. Alfred stands up as well.
"Natalia, I'm sorry-
"No. I don't want your fucking apology! I can't believe you think an apology would fix everything..Alfred, you cheated on me!!"
"I know an apology won't fix everything. Just please-" I turn and start to walk away. Alfred calls after me but I ignore him and keep walking, allowing my angry and sad tears fall down my face. 'I trusted him and then he just betrays me!' I shout in me head. I need to get away.
Once I arrive back home I pack some clothes into a suitcase and put it in my car. I'm not leaving Alfred permanently but I need to be around someone else.
I am going to visit my sister.
