This is definitely not a good idea.
What was I thinking trying to go into the one place I dread the most? Clearly, I wasn't.
You're so stupid, Serenity.
I folded my arms across my chest to keep warm as the wind whistled and howled. The one time I decided not to bring a coat and it's freakin' freezing out here.
Squawk! Squawk!
I jumped while looking over to my left only to see a familiar bird perched on the tree staring at me. Its beady eyes are really starting to freak me out. I definitely don't think it's not creepy at all for a creepy-looking bird to be at a graveyard staring you down.
I quickly rushed through the graveyard in hopes of finding another exit than where the dog was at. If it's not one thing, it's the other.
It's been years since I've been to this graveyard and I've forgotten how large and ancient the graveyard looks. The gravestones look extremely old. I went to one of the stones to read the inscription and hesitated before doing so. Will a ghost appear in front of me again? I kept questioning myself because I was scared of another encounter with a ghost.
I washed away those thoughts and decided to look at the inscription instead.
Here lies Elizabeth Stanton
Mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
1792-1843
May you rest in peace.
Wow, she was born in the 1700s? I wonder how late these graves date back to.
So basically, I ended up drifting off and searching for different gravestones to see how far they dated back to. It all seemed really interesting to me to see how old this town is. I wonder what year the ghost I talked to years ago was born in.
I checked my watch to see what time it is and was surprised when it read 9:30 pm. I'm just surprised that I've been here for so long. I didn't really want to go home yet so I sat on the brick wall at the end of the graveyard. I laid down to rest my eyes and the winds die down. Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.
~
I woke to a chilling sensation rolling like waves through my body. Rubbing my eyes, I checked my watch.
11:21 pm.
Holy crap! I have been sleeping for too long. I quickly sat up and jumped down from the wall and then prepared myself to walk to the entrance.
All of a sudden, a large, hand grabbed my upper arm.
I frantically looked around to see if anyone was there.
"Who's there?" I moved my head to the left and right searching for another human being.
I turned to see a pair of icy blue eyes, but I didn't see much considering I didn't plan to stick around.
My lip trembled in fear and I quickly ran towards to entrance of the graveyard praying that the dog had gone home or had gone somewhere else. I took cautionary steps as I reached the front and sighed in relief when I realized that the dog is gone. I opened up the gates of the graveyard grounds and quickly rushed off to my house. I've never ran faster in my life. Not even when the dog was chasing me.
Never again am I going inside this stupid graveyard. You couldn't even pay me a million dollars to enter the area.
I dashed home and hastily enter my house. Trying not to make a lot of noise, I ran up the stairs and flew into my room. I shut the door quietly and leaned against my door. As I slid down to the ground, I covered my face with my hands tiredly. It's seriously been a long day.
